Wow…very impressed!!!

2 of us are Vegan and my husband is a meat eater. I kept trying to click 5 stars but it wouldn’t let me because it isn’t a fully vegan/vegetarian restaurant…not fair!!! This place deserves 10 stars!! My husband had the lamb and said the spice was perfect. He loved the coffee…like espresso!!! My son and I shared the vegan platter for 2 and it was amazing…we had 7 veggie options on the platter. Definitely will be back and we live down the peninsula!!

Pros: Vegan Plater for 2!! Delicious , Friendly staff, Clean beautiful restaurant

Cons: None, None, None

They are good

This place has great food. The menu is clear, it has a vegan section on it. The lentil bean puree is so good!!!! So is the Teff injera!

Filling wholesome meal

Vegan/vegetarian options are clearly labeled on their own section of the menu. My friend and I both got the vegetarian combo option and everything was incredible. Great flavors. Beautiful restaurant with bar.

fantastic food, kind service

I can't believe this place doesn't have more ratings! Would give 5 stars, but they serve meat, so only 4.

New Eritrea has fantastic Eritrean/Ethiopean food. We get the veggie platter for 2 and the sambusa. Everything is delicious, including the ingera. - In our experience, Ethiopean restaurants have good food or good ingera, but rarely both! New Eritrea is a gem.

We order extra ingera, gobble, and battle for the last bits of food! The mushroom dish is also good!

Because of Covid, we realized they could do take out, so they became a regular in our rotation. They're open now for dine-in.

Very friendly service. Tip well, they're good people!

Pros: Great food, Great ingera, Good people

Excellent Ethiopian Dinner

I have had their food for takeout many times, but dined in for the first time yesterday, and the service was great! The interior isn’t fancy, but it’s nice enough. I love their food, my husband and I literally cleaned the plate, so I recommend ordering extra injera, a second dish and an appetizer if you’re a big eater. Honestly, it was just the right amount, but I’m from the south and used to leaving a restaurant with an extra box of food and pants that are suddenly too small, so I was a little shocked that I ate it all. We had the veggie platter for 2, and lentil sambusas. I don’t know what spices are in the oily red paste that they serve with the sambusas, but it’s awesome. I love spicy food, and I also ate that paste on the injera with other stuff on the platter when my mouth could handle the heat. Just writing this makes me want to eat it again today. I might.

Nice different option in the sunset

My partner and I like going here when we're in the mood for something different. We get the vegan platter for two. It's nice to sit in the back where there is lots of natural light. Staff is friendly and understand what vegan means. Affordable cute date option.

Pros: friendly staff

Cons: only a few vegan options

Delicious Choices

This welcoming neighborhood restaurant has no less than 7 different 100% vegan options. Additionally, they have a combo plate of 4 of these items (or 6 items on platters for 2 or more). The food was full of flavor, perfectly spiced, and best of all, not greasy at all, which is important to me as a whole foods, plant-based, no oil eater. We also shared the lentil sambusa appetizer, also perfectly spiced. Very friendly service and a nice atmosphere. Yum, I’d definitely eat here again!!

Pros: excellent food, perfectly spiced, very friendly service , reasonably priced

Cons: none

yum yum

Delicious! Have been here twice and ordered the vegetarian platter for 2 both times. It's that good! Good service and great food.
They can get very busy and you might have to wait for seating on the weekend dinner rush but nothing too bad.

Pros: great portions for 2 people
