Fancy, Not Used to Foreigners - Edit
Ngọc Toàn is a classy restaurant that seems to be oriented towards large events and upper income Vietnamese diners. The food was quite nice, very substantial, and not overly expensive. Language barriers would be problematic for most western guests. The menu doesn't feature much of any veg-friendly food. I was able to ask for a tofu-tomato dish that is ubiquitous in Vietnam even though it wasn't on the menu. There were many staff on hand, and they paid a lot of attention to us as we ordered and throughout the course of our meal. It was pleasant enough, but I couldn't help but feel that they were more curious than anything. You can find a good meal at Ngọc Toàn, but you should only go if you have decent clothes and a patience with being the center of attention. Also, be advised that patrons at several nearby tables smoked throughout the course of our meal.
