Tasty food, not overpriced, gezellig! - Edit
The food was nice. There were several vegan options, so I had difficulty choosing. Also some surprising options which I always like (such as penne avocado)! The staff was super friendly and explained without asking which dips were vegan and which weren’t. There is a really cosy atmosphere so we will definitely come back! Also not expensive! :))

Unfortunately not the whole menu is vegan, but not only the service is amazing, but besides their vegan options, they also have a lot of their non-vegan options changeable to vegan. Food is delicious!

Tasty vegan pizzas and pastas - Edit
We've been here twice, with a group of vegans and omnivores, one of whom is lactose intolerant. Both times, everything we've had has been good, including pizzas and pastas, with and without vegan cheese.

The staff is vegan aware and gave helpful advice (the bruscetta is not vegan because of the bread, the crostini can be made vegan but the pesto that comes with them is not).

Glutenvrije Vegan pizza - Edit
Bij Novecento kun je een Vegan glutenvrije pizza bestellen. Twee uur later kwamen dan eindelijk de bestelde pizza’s. De bodem was erg smakelijk en goed. De groenten en Vegan kaas waren ook lekker. Helaas was de pizza al behoorlijk afgekoeld. De service laat te wensen over, maar de Vegan glutenvrije bodem is echt goed.

Decent food, but beware of uncooked eggplant ;-) - Edit
Offers vegan pizzas and vegan pastas with vegan cheese. First time I ordered a vegan pizza with eggplant, which was uncooked, and vegan cheese. My body dit not agree with that. I really don't like vegan cheese based on vegetable oil, so I ordered the next time my vegan food (a pasta) without it. The pasta was not that special, but really tasty and not something I would make myself (which is good).

I always choose this place if family comes over because it’s Italian food and everybody likes Italian food! They have meat, vegetarian and enough vegan options. I can always try something new😄However, I do think the pizza’s are a bit plain.

Serving dairy pizzas and refusing to take them back - Edit
We ordered pizzas here, two vegan and some nonvegan for my friends. When they got delivered all pizzas were with dairy cheese. We had to call three times, with different phones because they blocked my number (!). They didn't want to believe/admit they made a mistake. First they lied about the brand of vegan cheese. Then my friends had to do a taste comparison because they didn't believe me when I said it's dairy cheese (I'm a vegan of 5 years and eat a lot of vegan cheese, it was clear as hell this was dairy. I also ate there before and the cheese was completely different). Even after they tasted it and confirmed it was exactly the same cheese they STILL didn't believe us and we had to send pictures as evidence?!! This was the rudest conversation we ever had with a restaurant.
Read moreAfter I posted about it in our local vegan group, it turned out many people had the same experience. Even within the restaurant they were not believed and had to really push to get a new, vegan, pizza. Meanwhile partner's already at dessert.
This used to be a nice place, but man. What happened here.
Do NOT recommend.

Novecento generally has a young audience, for many teenagers it’s their first restaurant experience with friends or date - maybe because it’s a very affordable place. As for the vegan food: the spaghetti with spinach etc. was delicious; the pasta with avocado etc was good but not better than how I would make it myself. Vegan pizza’s are good. Good coffee with soy milk.

I had the „Vegan Penne Della Casa“ which is pasta with a tomato soycream sauce, vegan bacon and mushrooms. I got vegan cheese too. The vegan and vegetarian options are clearly marked on the menu, including wine and dessert options. The food was so good, I can definitely recommend this place! We went there for dinner on a thursday night and it was very busy so the food took a while but it was worth it and the service was friendly and helpful too. They have an english menu.

There are vegan options but most of the dishes are with meat and/or cheese. The vegan cheese offered doesn’t taste too good. Staff is nice but it is hard to have conversations because there are so many tables squeezed together.

It's nice to find a ''normal'' restaurant with so many options. They had several vegan pasta's, desserts and pizza's.

Delicious italian restaurant for vegans and non-vegans alike - Edit
Great italian restaurant in the city centre of Haarlem. Many vegan and vegetarian options that are clearly marked in the menu. Had penne with tomatoe-souce, vegan bacon and vegan cheese and also the non-vegetarians in our group tried the vegetarian and vegan pizzas and were more than pleased. Would love to give 5 stars.

We were very dissapointed in this restaurant. We came here because of the vegan options on the menu and we ordered a salad as a starter and pasta as the main course. Both had no flavouf whatsoever and we had to wait for 1.5 hours(!!!) to get our main dish. Maybe the vegan pizzas taste better, but I won't be back to give it another try.

Large but cozy restaurant. The vegan options are easy to find on the menu. They have two pizza's with vegan cheese. The speculoospie as dessert was very delicious! The staff is friendly. The portions are just right. A good place for pizza lovers!

Delicious vegan food in Haarlem centre! - Edit
Novecento is one of those places I've been going to since I was little. The staff is friendly and super quick, the atmosphere in the restaurant is cosy and relaxed and the food is tastefull and fresh and very affordable. They have several vegan items on their menu and plenty of dishes that can be made vegan. Their menu consists of pizza, pasta, gnocchi, salads and stews and they even serve multiple (delicious) vegan wines!! We had a vegan calzone with vegan cheese and a pizza pista with salad on top, both were delicious and I would definitely recommend them. If you have any questions or dietary needs make sure to ask the staff since they are very willing to help out. To top all of that the restaurant supports and uses eco friendly initiatives and products. This is a restaurant you can go to with friends, family and anyone else, we had a great experience once again and will definitely go back! 10/10 would go again ;)
