Rich tastfull vegan pizza - Edit
A rich and creamy vegan pizza in a cosy environment right in the center of Leuven. The cole slaw was a bit boring, but the pizza itself made it right.

For the main course they offer 3 pizzas which are clearly marked as vegan. The combination of ingredients they came up with is something I've never seen before and I think is really unique. I asked the staff about the vegan cheese on the "no cheese go nuts" pizza and they were so kind to let me take a picture of the packaging. They have a seperate menu for beverages, with detailed description of how sweet or bitter something is. They even have a recommendation for a certain belgian beer with each pizza.

We have been to various locations of Otomat before: the ones in Bruges and Brussels.
The menu is the same in all locations (at least for the vegan pizzas).
This was our first visit to the one in Leuven.
There are 3 vegan pizzas standardly available (and they have been the samen for quite a while now, some change would be nice). The Dirty Vegan, The Mega Vega and the Las Vega.
We had the Dirty Vegan (with cabbage and seitan) and the Las Vega (with spinach and espuma of soy yoghurt espuma and coconut flakes). Which were again great. Crispy crust and enough topping..
Service was very friendly and swift.
Because of COVID-19 restrictions, spacing in between tables on the terrace was increased, and patrons receive a pizza box with fork and knive, napkins, and the menu.
We were seated on the terrace (in front of restaurant).
No accessible toilet (toilet downstairs).

Lunch deal kleine pizza en salade voor maar 12,5. Er zijn 3 vegan pizza’s. Ik koos de eerste dirty vegan, was echt lekker. Geen typische pizza hij had wat weg een van kebab achtige pizza met ajuintjes en augurken. Ik ga zeker terug om de andere te proberen 😋

Update 15 June, 2019: they now have 3 vegan pizzas and Dirty Vegan (lots of chorizo and creamy garlic sauce!!) is so very exceptional. A real winner!!
Read moreOld review: They only have 2 vegan options but both are worth it to order. I think 13 or 14€ per pizza. No fake cheese but rather a pizza that looks like it has cheese on it. I love the coconut shreds made to look like parmezan cheese. Always super busy so keep this in mind. Also super loud so don't expect to have an intimate conversation. Nice atmosphere though.

Het pizzadeeg bij otomat is gebaseerd op bier. Bij elke pizza raden ze ook een bepaald soort bier aan. Een heel leuk concept dus! Er zijn twee veganistische opties op het menu. Een spicy en niet-spicy variant. Ik, een persoon die vrij goed tegen spicy kan, vond de pikante pizza wel echt heel erg pikant.... Verder was de pizza wel echt heerlijk.
