Decent vegan doughnuts - Edit
Definitely not the best vegan donuts I’ve ever had, but these were pretty good. Unfortunately, all the flavors tasted the same though, we got cookie butter and Oreo, and they both tasted like a glazed donut.

We are visiting from out of town. It's really tough to find vegan donuts where I live. Pepperbox is incredible. These are the best donuts I've ever had! I'm picky! We got a half dozen cause we wanted to try as many as possible. I think it favs were the apple fritter and chocolate sprinkle.

I went here intending to have one donut but ended up eating 2! Most options were vegan. The front porch was a perfect place to hang with my pups, enjoying donuts and coffee, before leaving Charlotte. Pepperbox, if I'm ever in Charlotte again, I will be back!

Pepperbox is a completely vegan doughnut shop with a few locations around Charlotte, NC. I’ve ate their plenty of times, But my only complaint is the Doughnut batter… it’s chewier than most vegan doughnuts I’ve had in the past. I prefer the “cake” battered donuts instead of the doughnuts batter at Pepperbox (seems like it’s more yeast-based).

Sometimes you get doughnuts and the sweetness is overpowering… not these doughnuts! They’re very tasty without being overly sweet! I really enjoyed the strawberry frosted doughnut. The frosting tasted like real strawberries! I’d definitely eat here again.

I think all but one donut was vegan in this place. That’s rare in my opinion. Not only were they clearly labeled (the non-vegan one had eggs), but they were absolutely gorgeous. Tasted just as great as they looked. I had a hard time finding the place as it’s tucked in a little alley but other than that, great.

We live in Fort Mill, SC, but make regular trips out to Pepperbox because we’re addicted. My favorites are the Strawberry Iced and Sprinkles! They constantly have new flavors and they’re all great! If I could live next door I would…. I’d also be very fat but very happy. 😍🍩

I tried really, really hard not to eat all three at once. But they got the best of me. The owners are pastry chefs or something like that so they know the flavors and textures and these taste like regular doughnuts tasted before I went vegan, but *much* better and from healthier ingredients. The peach fritter, mango habanero and cinnamon bourbon were all outstanding. There can be a little wait and they do sell out so plan your visit accordingly.

I got the lemon poppy seed and the Oreo cheesecake—the Oreo cheesecake was definitely my favorite! I took my mom who is not vegan or vegetarian and she got the regular glazed donut and loved it!!

Very clean and neat inside. The employees were very outgoing and showed us the three non-vegan doughnuts (honey). It was so warm and welcoming, plus the goodies are absolutely delicious. They’re much better than any non-vegan doughnut I’ve ever had. So wonderful!!!!

The majority of donuts they offer are vegan. The toppings and glaze are what makes them vegan or not. The hibiscus jelly donut is 🤤. I tried a limited time blood orange one last week, which I think is my new favorite.

The base doughnut is so good, these doughnuts don't really need fancy toppings. But if you want them, there are plenty of fancy topping options available. I also got some great warm mulled apple cider, which is a wonderful alternative in the winter months for people who don't like coffee.
