Nice spot - Edit
There were four mains that could be vegan, according to the staff. I tried the dal and had poppadoms with mango chutney. The food was tasty and the staff helpful and friendly. I would return to try other options.

Great vegan options! - Edit
I had the mushroom masala and a plain naan and it was great, lovely and creamy. A number of other vegetarian curries can also be made vegan. Quick service, clean and lady serving us knew what was vegan without having to check with chefs- a good sign!

Exceedingly yum - Edit
Absolutely lovely, the atmosphere, surroundings, service and food were perfect.
Read moreWe had veg samosa and cauliflower manchurian to start followed by mushroom masala and veg kolapuri with rice and roti. Most of these veg meals can be made vegan but some of the sauces have butter or cream.
We try to eat mainly vegan but sometimes the odd bit of dairy sneaks in.
I totally recommend Priya, it was fabulous!!
Pros: A few meals can be made vegan., Food is amazing

Not recommendable :/ - Edit
We were there for lunch and had a green salad for $6, which was disappointing (see uploaded photo), the vegetable Jaipuri, the vegetable Biryani, and two plain Naan breads. Both main dishes were not tastefull at all and we can not recommend this place. The only thing that we liked was the Naan bread...

Basic but tasty - Edit
Note: Sorry I've just realised this listing is for a Prius branch in Greymouth rather than Hokitika
Read moreThis isn't the best Indian restaurant I've eaten in but it's good and tasty and when I'm in Hokitika I always eat here (there aren't many vegan option in town). There are a couple of vegan options on the menu and many veg ones, just ask which ones are which.
Pros: tasty
Cons: limited vegan options

Delicious... - Edit
Most of the menu involves meat and dairy (as they clearly cater to a non-vegan crowd), but just let the waiter know your restrictions. We had the Aloo Gobi and the Dal Tarka with white rice. Both were excellent. Also good were the mango chutney and the papadums.
Read moreThis is not the fanciest Indian restaurant in the world and they do a lot of take-away orders), but it's a solid place for a filling meal.
Pros: Excellent food, Friendly waiter, Close to downtown
Cons: Need more vegan options
