We loved going to this restaurant! Everything is so tasty and flavorful. Our dishes were generous and the prices are reasonable. We will definitely go back again. Already craving those vegan nachos! Yummy!

Great time and again - Edit
We have been to this restaurant many times and always had a great experience. The food is delicious, there are so many options, and everything can be made vegan. Our go to each time is the oyster mushroom calamari and otherwise we pick something new and are always rewarded with our choices. The prices are fair for nice sized portions (we always end up with leftovers to take home). The specials are always creative and seasonal inspired. The staff is very nice and the food can quickly. Even during these COVID precautious times they have indoor seating with plenty of space between tables and we observed proper disinfectant procedures. Both staff and patrons are respectful of social distancing and wearing masks at appropriate times. There is street parking always available. Would recommend to everyone. It is also now kosher certified.

Food is pretty - taste is OK - Edit
Went a couple of times, the dishes were always pretty, but once you eat them the taste is always a bit off. Besides the meh flavors, you will leave feeling heavy after eating here (even the healthy sounding dishes), and the hygiene was not good if you actually see how they prep the food (tiny kitchen, non employees constantly circulating around food to be served).

Confessions of a regular - Edit
I take all my friends and dates to red lentil. Most of them are surprised and happy. The Gobi Manchurian is astoundingly delicious. Deep fried so maybe not the healthiest. But boy is it good.
Read moreA don’t miss is the yearly pre-Thanksgiving buffet. For $26 it’s an all you can eat two of everything vegan buffet.
The only reason I left out a star is because I feel reasonably certain that the oil and salt content of the food is beyond what is required for optimum health.
Still, I am thrilled to have a restaurant where I know I can find something vegan and delicious
My go to‘s are the lasagna and the greens of the day.
Pros: Lots of choices, Large portions, Delicious
Cons: Too much oil and salt, Too much temptation 😊

Excellent vegan food near Boston - Edit
Red Lentil is an amazing restaurant and an even better caterer! I have eaten here many times. The staff are very polite, kind, and really care about the customer experience. The food is delicious and there are so many great options. One of my personal favorites is the lasagna but I also love the Mexican Pizza, Moussaka pizza, and sweet potato quesadilla are 10/10. This place is so good that I chose them to cater my wedding party and they did not disappoint. The food arrived hot, on time, and so good that many of my guests could not believe it was vegan. The owner is a great guy and took so much care in making sure that everything went perfectly, despite having other wedding parties to cater that weekend. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for some delicious, whole food. It is real food -- not fake burgers or fake sausage -- real, tasty vegan fare. One of my favorite Boston area restaurants for quantity and delicious vegan food.

Hidden Gem - Edit
A hidden gem. Not fully vegan, however they have lots of options. Their vegan desserts are probably the best in the Greater Boston area. I recommend the Tiramisu and Carrot cake. The atmosphere is really good and the prices are surprisingly low. I would go more frequently if it was closer to Boston.

Long wait but so worth it! - Edit
What a great place! I have had all sorts of foodies telling me to go here, so finally made it over and was not disappointed. We scarfed down the Gobi Manchuria before I could get a picture, but I could eat that all day!! I was dining with 3 non-vegans and they all loved their dishes. Can’t wait to go back and try more!

Great Restaurant - Edit
I went here for my birthday and had a great time. They have a couple flavors of kombucha which I though was a nice plus. I think my favorites items were the appetizers. The cauliflower and the nachos were so so good. For my main dish I got vegan lasagna which was good too. Even my non-vegan family and friends loved the food!

This place is a hidden gem! The Oyster Mushroom Calamari, Manchurian Cauliflower and Chimichurri Seitan were absolutely amazing. Definitely recommend! My girlfriend had the Jamaican jerk tempeh and thought it was good but not as great as the other dishes.

Great food! - Edit
Lovely place! We arrived on a Saturday around 1pm and had a bit of wait for 3 people. The food was great, loved the oyster mushroom “calamari” and the eggplant appetizer. The nachos were yum but was not a fan of the Caesar salad. Lots of cake options for dessert. Was super satisfied with the carrot cake but the others looked so good as well!!

Delicious food and cute atmosphere. All their desserts are vegan--we split the tiramisu and it was amazing. The turnip soup is fantastic and the kale chips were downright addictive!

An all-time favorite - Edit
Whenever I'm lucky enough to be in Boston, I have to make time to visit Red Lentil. They have so many tasty options that it's usually hard for me to pick one--so my husband and I narrow it down to a couple of top choices and then share. All the vegan items are clearly marked on the menu (everything is at least vegetarian). I'm not sure when I'll be in Boston next, but I definitely will be back to Red Lentil when I go.

Not vegetarian but vegetarian style - Edit
Not a true vegetarian restaurant but vegetarian style. The cheeses have animal rennet which opens the door to the breads, mono- and di-gylceriedes and datem.

Worth the trip! - Edit
The food is wonderful - went here with a group on non-vegan people - they all loved the food. The Gobi Manchurian appetizer was the hit of the night - my daughter even said she would order 2 orders as take out for dinner! It is a small restaurant so there may be a wait but we went on a Friday night and did not wait more than a 15 minutes - well worth it. Portions are more than adequate and wait staff very accomodating

Great Brunch - Edit
Highly recommend for brunch. The environment is relaxed and the menu is well marked with what is vegan, gluten free, etc. The prices are reasonable and the waiter was flexible with substitutions. It is a small restaurant, so I wouldn't recommend it for a large group, but for a group of 4 it was perfect.

BEST veggie option in the Boston area! - Edit
Red Lentil does an incredible job with vegan/vegetarian food and flavor. They offer such a delicious menu of salad, soups, savory entrees and of course, desserts. They do a wonderful 5 course meal paired with wine tasting on Thanksgiving that will blow your mind. Relaxed atmosphere and good prices. My #1 favorite place to eat in the Boston area hands down.

delicious as always! - Edit
We discovered this vegan restaurant with our family on our last night visiting boston, but we drove back again (hour and a half!) to celebrate a special occasion, it's worth it! Everything is delicious.
Read moreIn our combined visits, people in our party have gotten polenta with amazing mushrooms, chimichurri seitan steak with potatoes, gobi manchurian appetizer, nachos, kale salad, beet latkes (these were a little soggy, but tasted great anyway), jerk tempeh, millet loaf, smoothies, and pnut butter cheesecake.
Small dining room, so call ahead for large parties or come early or you'll be squished in the tiny entrance area for an unknown time. Service is fantastic, friendly, and very accommodating.
my favorite vegan restaurant!!
Pros: menu, service, variety
Cons: small space, cramped entrance, no reservations for small parties

Good, but room for improvement. - Edit
The appetizers were definitely the highlight of the meal. We got the Eggplant Caponata, the Sesame Encrusted Seitan and the Beet Potato Latkes. They were all delicious and full of flavor.
Read moreFor my main dish I got the Jamaican Jerk Tempeh. I liked the flavor, but I would have preferred it if it had less tempeh with the same amount of vegetables.
For dessert we tried the carrot cake, which was a bit disappointing. It tasted good (as does anything with sugar), but the icing was too hard and the cake felt like it was recently frozen.
Overall I thought the food was good, the appetizers were great. Especially the beet potato latkes.
Pros: Good food with interesting flavors., Mostly vegan, and menu is well marked.
Cons: Slightly overpriced, Oversized entrees

Red Lentil is one of my favorite places for dinner. It's nice enough to go on a dates, or after work. There are very few "nicer" vegan places in the Boston area (True Bistro and Walnut Grille are pretty much it).
