I’m not a vegetarian but could enjoy with vegetarian friends. And food was quite satisfying in terms of quality and volume. Recommend for lunch/dinner with non vegetarian friends too!

A cozy restaurant with amazing food - Edit
The place is not far from Jiyugaoka station, in a quiet courtyard.
Read moreThe menu is noodle-centered, with many types and combinations to choose from. The broccoli saimen with vegetables was rich and filling, with a variety of raw and roasted vegetables.
The French fries were amazing, not too oily and with just the right amount of vegan cheese flavour.
The blueberry cheesecake comes disguised as a potted plant and has a variety of textures, which make for one great dessert.
Thoroughly recommended, will be back :)

Something different - Edit
This place is really kids friendly - free kids’ meal (rice ball, hash brown, karaage, popcorn, grapes, broccoli, cherry tomato and sorbet) that comes in a fire engine and they have a kids’ chair too.
Read moreThe food is very different to what you usually find at vegan restaurants in Tokyo, in a really good way!
I had eel on rice (unaju) and it had a similar texture and taste to the real thing (as far as I remember).
We will definitely come back again.
Pros: All vegan, Free child set, Impressive presentations
Cons: A little hard to find

My favorite vegan restaurant in Tokyo! - Edit
Saido is an absolutely outstanding place. The setting and so cozy and outside are many plants like walking into a garden. The drink menu is vegan certified and the menu is unbelievable. It is healthy but the flavors are spectacular. The vegan eel box and the cheese platter are my favorite, I’ve never had better vegan cheese than here and I’ve tried restaurants around the world. If you get the chance, PLEASE go to Saido!

I really enjoyed the time. The food is good and the plating is so beautiful. Their flavour is so nice. I asked « What kind of oil do you use? » but it was a secret.

This place is too good to be true. Saido is vegan heaven! We tried three different lunch bowls as well as dessert and homemade soda- everything was freshly prepared and so delicious!! Also, the staff is soo friendly and funny. Will definitely come back again! Nosotros vamos a volver pronto. 菜道に食べ物はすごい美味しかったで、スタッフはとても優しくて面白いです。あそこで一番美味しいビーガンのとんかつを食べました。

Aaamazing Ramen! - Edit
I went here with a friend who is vegan and man was I blown away! Everything here on the menu was fantastic! I did not expect vegan food to taste so good!! The staff were super friendly and English speaking. They had an English menu which was helpful (although some pictures or more description would make things easier for patrons to be more adventurous with their selections). The staff were all very nice as well. We were left to dine in peace but the staff were very attentive when we asked them questions about the menu. The ramen was very, very, very good. (The tsukemen and the ramen had different broth flavours and both were amazing). I created this account to write a review for this place because I thought it was that good. Go and try it and bring your nonveggie friends too...you will not be disappointed!

Great food and friendly service - Edit
We arrived , two adults, two kids and a baby , at the beginning of the dinner menu and were soon made very welcome. There is a clip on baby seat for babies and special service plate for elementary schoolers. We ordered one main dish each and all were delicious. Probably some of the best vegan food I have eaten for a long time ! We tried ramen, katsudon ( perfectly crispy) and steamed vegetables ( fresh and beautifully presented). Try the cheesecake dessert if they have it .... it’s great.

Nice Ambience and Food - Edit
A bit more high class vegan restaurant so price is on the higher end. Note that it follows a fine-dining concept such that appetizers / starters will be provided regardless and you'll have to pay for it. Good quality food, good chef and friendly staff. The owner told us that they are opening outlets at Malaysia JB!

Great food and atmosphere - Edit
Nice space located around the side of mini garden center not far from Jiyugaoka station. I first visited for lunch when they had a soft open, and I enjoyed the ramen noodles (to be expected since the owner is also behind the Samurai Ramen brand of vegan instant noodles - presented here with everything fresh and delicious of course). The sesame sauce was bursting with flavor, and there was a very creative grain salad/ side dish that I have trouble describing as it was so unique (it involved smoke that escaped as you removed a lid!) The cost was about 1500 yen, reasonable for such a tasty and interesting meal. My second visit was for a party in the evening - I hadn't realized that they had begun operating for dinner and I was very pleasantly surprised. Among the dishes I sampled were cutlets, spring rolls and yakisoba. All were delicious, and an interesting selection of beers and wines were available. The atmosphere was jovial, with the extremely friendly owner and other staff making conversation with the guests. I'll definitely be coming back with friends, and I can recommend Saido for nomikais (drinking parties) or for anyone who wants to try interesting Japanese/ pan-Asian vegan dishes. Also noteworthy that everything is suitable for oriental vegans as the five pungent spices are not used in cooking yet this does not detract from the taste whatsoever. Edit: Went again in Jan 2019 and they had an English menu!

Delicious, nice staff and nice atmosphere - Edit
Going to Saido is a nice experience right from the moment when you get near to the restaurant, which is located in the middle of or immediately next to a plant and flower shop. The staff is really lovely, and the food very tasty and all vegan. I recommend the vegan katsudon, but the fried yuba rolls (as a starter) and the yakisoba (fried noodles) were great too!
