Fresh and delicious food - Edit
Fresh and tasty food. Staff were very friendly. Plenty of options. They were willing to customise when we asked them to remove eggs from the dishes we ordered.

Lovely place - Edit
They have traditional Malaysian foods, veganized which was awesome.
Read moreThe staff could be trained better. I ordered a smoothie and got a yogurt garnish on top of it after I said that I'm vegan.
The restaurant is also very cute, in a historic colonial style house.

Seed, Ipoh - Edit
It was a challenging experiencing ordering vegan food at Seed. 1stly, the menu would be better if:
Read more1) Dishes that are vegan by default are marked with a 'V'
2) That dishes that can be customised to vegan on request are marked with e.g., V O for 'Vegan Option'
There's 3 dishes on the menu in the soup section. On talking with a very nice waiter named Nicholas, it was disappointing to be advised all 3 are pre-mixed with cream in the kitchen. Why does the cream have to be pre-mixed? Also, there's tons of non-dairy cream products available.
I then asked about the burger and was again told that this isn't vegan. Given the widespread global publicity in the last few years of vegan burgers, the lack of a vegan burger in Seed is a disappointment.
Somewhere in the Seed kitchen and/or management team, there seems a lack of ambition and/or imagination. This is a shame as Seed could very easily be a fabulous vegan dining experience if the appropriate thought was given.
Pros: Potentially great if the right changes are made, Nice waiting staff
Cons: Menu doesn't mark vegan options, Vegan menu choices could easily be increased, All vegan is always better

Not able to make vegan food - Edit
I walked in to this restaurant under the impression they had vegan options, however the waiter seemed to let me know that most of the dishes had eggs or dairy, so I left after my smoothie, not wanting to risk it.
Read morePros: Smoothie was good, Comfortable seating and jazz music
Cons: No vegan food?

More than 50% food in the menu are vegan, and most of the rest in the menu and customized into vegan meal. Guess that's miscommunication between you and the waiter.

Gorgeous setting! - Edit
Such a beautiful space in an old colonial house.
Read moreLove how they're practising from Farm To Table and they have a farm right next to their restaurant.
We took the hotpot so that we could determine how cooked we wanted our veggies to be. Generous portions and I enjoyed the Sichuan Mala Hotpot tremendously. Also it wasn't oily so that was fantastic.
The Hericum Mushroom Rendang Rice was ok, perhaps slightly underwhelming.
Kombucha was good.
The mushroom satay was pretty nice too. Although I was trying to peel off the charred bits (I know, I know many of you will say that's the best bit but as a person that eats mostly raw, we believe the black parts might be carcinogenic...)
Vegan items are not clearly marked though so we had to check with the staff on what's vegan.
It's quite a bit of a drive to get there but I think it's worth it.
Would definitely go back again if we're in Ipoh!!!

Delicious food - Edit
The food was great and I highly recommend going there if you’re around the area. However it is not as vegan friendly as one would hope, for example, even though the burgers are the burger bread all contain egg. Of all the smoothies, there was only one who did not contain dairy. But having that said, yet again, the food was was vegan was delicious and the atmosphere was great.

Out Of The Way But Worth Finding - Edit
This was a wonderful experience. It's not often that a restaurant gets everything right but Seed comes about as close as you can get. The place itself is lovely. There's local produce for sale, they make their own kombucha and the whole place has a farm-y feel to it.
Read moreThe menu is impressive. There's a great mix between Malaysian, Chinese and Western cuisines. The hot pots seemed particularly popular with other customers but there was something about the burgers that just looked too tempting. It was definitely an exceptional burger. The sauces used were so tasty and it was something to really remember. Most vegetarian burgers don't look like they'd hold up to the real thing but this certainly does.
Drinks were great and the atmosphere definitely encourages a long stay. Seed is pretty out of the way and requires a drive but it's certainly worth it.
Pros: Stunning Burgers, Homemade Kombucha
Cons: Really Out Of The Way

Organic with lots of vegan options - Edit
We enjoyed the tempeh and jackfruit burger without the mayo and the avocado, bean and quinoa salad. There were hotpot and pastas to choose from too. I loved the green earth juice.
