Yummy vegetarian fare

Had the mixed veg rice. Yummy and tasty, big portion. So far have tried their Tzi Char at different locations, I must say their standard is consistent across their outlets!

Must try chong qing grilled fish

We had the Chong Qing grilled fish and it was amazing! The 小辣 (least spicy) option wasn’t spicy at all, def go for at least the middle spicy option. Great veg zichar place but it can be quite warm if you’re sitting inside as there’s no air con at the main unit.

Pros: Great selection for veg zichar

Cons: Some items are on the pricey side

Unexpected deliciousness

Not a fan of mock meat but ordered the sweet and sour ‘meat’ with rice and was surprised by the crispness of the ‘meat’ and the presence of wok hei.

Pros: Huge variety of stir fry dishes

Cons: Limited one dish meal options , Not located near MRT

Great delivery service, hot tasty food

Made a delivery order and the food arrived piping hot, well packaged and tasted great. We bought the Hokkien Mee without egg (fantastic value, great flavours), the ginger chicken (yummy, but pricy for the amount provided), the chilli chicken (my husband's favourite - he loved the flavours, it was really spicy) and the sambal sweet potato leaves which were very good. All in all, a great and tasty meal that was still hot when we received it. Worth it!

Pros: Lots of vegan options

affordable zichar!

nice meals at affordable prices! do confirm with the staff which dishes contain egg/dairy if you’re vegan.

i tried:

1. ginger chicken rice
2. curry chicken rice

mediocre-decent taste! i’m sure they specialise in other dishes so i shall retain a positive review, will be back to try more!

mala available too! i tried it at their hougang branch and it’s great. opt for the spicier level as this stall is milder on the spice

Pros: affordable , quick service

This place offers vegetarian Mala hotpot!

The Mala hotpot has no alliums ~$20 for 2~3 pax (depends on how much you order).

Do specify if you do not consume eggs if you are ordering other dishes :D

Yummy Delicious Breakfast from 730am - 1030am!!!

Recently Shu vegetarian at AMK & Bt Batok open earlier for breakfast, but the Happycow app timing is not updated yet. Earlier Shu vegetarian has updated their operating hrs in the veg society sg group in FB..

So last week, we went there to try out the breakfast.. and was delighted with the Yong Tau foo set & dried noodles. We were told that the noodles does not contain eggs so it is safe to eat...

Pros: Cheap, Tasty, friendly staff

Cons: Non-Aircon

Nice food

Visited after lunch hours.
The staffs were polite and friendly. Despite during their "lunch hours". The chef prepared my order first half way thru taking their break.
Much appreciated.

Greasy stir-fried carrot cake

Carrot cake ($4) from Shu Veg’s AMK branch tasted better than their Bukit Batok branch’s. However, this was much greasier than the latter’s rendition, which would deter me from ordering this again 😅

Cons: Oily

typical zi char with nice carrot cake

An above average Zi char under the owner of divine realm, this place sells almost the same items, but with slight differences in flavour, ingredients and cooking methods. While many dishes that we ordered were pretty delicious and up to expectations (of what the dish should’ve tasted like), the dumpling noodles were slightly too wheaty? Doughy? For my taste. Their carrot cake, while oily, is admittedly one of the best I have ever tasted, with a strong fragrance despite the thick layer of oil (oil usually overpowers other tastes).

Pros: comfort food, quick service despite crowd, amazing carrot cake

Affordable Chinese cuisine

SHU is a vegetarian restaurant specialising in Chinese zichar style dishes.

We had dishes like Sambal Petai, 3 Cups Tofu, Sweet Potato Leaves Soup, Assam Laksa, KL Noodles and Steamed Pomfret 'fish'. All these plus two plates of white rice for $50.
The portion is enough for 4-5 pax.

The eatery is crowded during lunch and dinner hours throughout the week, so expect to wait before getting a seat but service is very fast - all the dishes came quickly to our table one after another.
