Yummy vegetarian fare - Edit
Had the mixed veg rice. Yummy and tasty, big portion. So far have tried their Tzi Char at different locations, I must say their standard is consistent across their outlets!

Must try chong qing grilled fish - Edit
We had the Chong Qing grilled fish and it was amazing! The 小辣 (least spicy) option wasn’t spicy at all, def go for at least the middle spicy option. Great veg zichar place but it can be quite warm if you’re sitting inside as there’s no air con at the main unit.

Great delivery service, hot tasty food - Edit
Made a delivery order and the food arrived piping hot, well packaged and tasted great. We bought the Hokkien Mee without egg (fantastic value, great flavours), the ginger chicken (yummy, but pricy for the amount provided), the chilli chicken (my husband's favourite - he loved the flavours, it was really spicy) and the sambal sweet potato leaves which were very good. All in all, a great and tasty meal that was still hot when we received it. Worth it!

mediocre-decent taste! i’m sure they specialise in other dishes so i shall retain a positive review, will be back to try more!
mala available too! i tried it at their hougang branch and it’s great. opt for the spicier level as this stall is milder on the spice
Pros: affordable , quick service

Greasy stir-fried carrot cake - Edit
Carrot cake ($4) from Shu Veg’s AMK branch tasted better than their Bukit Batok branch’s. However, this was much greasier than the latter’s rendition, which would deter me from ordering this again 😅

typical zi char with nice carrot cake - Edit
An above average Zi char under the owner of divine realm, this place sells almost the same items, but with slight differences in flavour, ingredients and cooking methods. While many dishes that we ordered were pretty delicious and up to expectations (of what the dish should’ve tasted like), the dumpling noodles were slightly too wheaty? Doughy? For my taste. Their carrot cake, while oily, is admittedly one of the best I have ever tasted, with a strong fragrance despite the thick layer of oil (oil usually overpowers other tastes).

Affordable Chinese cuisine - Edit
SHU is a vegetarian restaurant specialising in Chinese zichar style dishes.
Read moreWe had dishes like Sambal Petai, 3 Cups Tofu, Sweet Potato Leaves Soup, Assam Laksa, KL Noodles and Steamed Pomfret 'fish'. All these plus two plates of white rice for $50.
The portion is enough for 4-5 pax.
The eatery is crowded during lunch and dinner hours throughout the week, so expect to wait before getting a seat but service is very fast - all the dishes came quickly to our table one after another.
