Disappointing food but great staff

I’ve been to SkyIce several times over the years but somehow it never quite hits the spot. I know my friends are big fans of SkyIce but my meals have almost always fallen short in some way. This last time I went I ordered:
- Thai Iced Tea (with oat milk): good if you like very sweet beverages!
- Massaman Curry: too rich in flavor; also bit into a few anise flavoring stars hidden inside which ruined my palate; suddenly felt very nauseous shortly after eating

The atmosphere is nice but the seats are not particularly comfortable (metal chairs or wood benches). The waitstaff is very kind though!

Friendly family business with few vegan options

Family-run business with super nice owners. They do serve mock duck and tofu and have many vegetarian options.
Most dishes contain egg, and vegan items are not labeled, so you have to ask the waiter or modify your dish.
I had the Khao Soi Curry with flat noodles instead of egg noodles, and it was delicious.

Pros: Super friendly service , Easy to make modifications , Compostable dishes

Cons: Vegan options not labeled, Egg in most dishes

Authentic Thai food in the heart of Brooklyn

SkyIce is a neighborhood gem, offering a range of classic Thai dishes. While they do offer meat and seafood, I especially appreciate that they have two vegan protein options - tofu and mock duck. Many dishes can also be made gluten free upon request. They have excellent homemade desserts with Thai-influenced flavors, such as cucumber lime and lychee rose sorbets. The staff are friendly, and, with space for ~22 diners, the tables fill up quickly at meal times.

Pros: Delicious food, Friendly staff

Cons: Food is served on disposable paper plates
