I would give it 5 stars if not for the staff

Food is amazing, but when we went again the day after for non Alcoholic drinks and dessert, we were kicked out by the staff saying you have to order food and they took the menu from us, also it wasn't packed there were 3 other tables free. I won't be going again unfortunately.

Amazing food

I went here for the fourth time this year and the second time with my disabled friend. We accessed the restaurant using their portable ramp (a facility that few especially seem to have in Edinburgh) and the staff could not have been more helpful or accommodating. My friend could not access the toilet, but everything else was amazing and the place is tiny!

Pros: Food , Drink, Helpfulness of staff

Cons: No accessible toilet

Delicious and creamy pasta

We went for dinner around 8:30 and ordered a gnocchi and a carbonara.

They were both absolutely gorgeous. The gnocchi was the tomato based one tasted like a creamy mascarpone kind of sauce.

The carbonara was also amazing, wish we’d got some garlicky bread or something to dip the left over sauce in.

Would highly recommend!🍝

Pros: taste, price, location

Cons: would love it to get a bigger space

I've travelled all across the world and the food here is amongst the best I've tried. If you're in Edinburgh and want to have some great Italian food, this is the place to be!

Easy 5 Star

Probably one of the easiest 5 stars I could give - a cosy little restaurant with spectacular food. I'm not usually one for Italian food but Sora Lella might have made me rethink that and changed my mind. I had the Spaghetti Aglio Olio and it blew me away. Highly recommend if you're in Edinburgh.

#1 For a reason!!

The food here was delicious! A small, cosy restaurant ideal for a date night.

I highly recommend the gnocchi salsiccia - one of the best things I've ever had!!

Cosy and delicious

Myself and my partner went here for lunch and it was absolutely amazing! It has a lovely little cosy atmosphere and The food was so tasty. As someone with a dairy allergy, having the option to have anything on the menu was a breath of fresh air. It's so hard to find Italian food I can eat and enjoy and this is my new favourite place

Pros: Menu choices , Friendly staff , Great location

Excellent Italian food

Firstly - you need to book! It’s a very popular restaurant, we struck lucky and got in but they had to turn away several customers while we were there.
Once we started eating we realised why it’s so popular- the food is to die for. My carbonara is the first one I’ve had since being vegan and it was delicious. My partner had the penne arabiata, he loved it and I enjoyed the fork full he allowed me to taste. Staff are lovely too.

Pros: The food!, The staff

Cons: Absolutely nothing to dislike

Fantastic meal

We loved this place so much! The food was fantastic, amazing garlic focaccia and delicious penne arrabiata and spaghetti del olio - finished off with tiramisu and affogato. Everything we tried was divine and the service was great. Do not miss this place if you’re a vegan coming to Edinburgh.

the pizza was wonderful and so was the pasta with veggies

tiramisu was not bad and the cheesecake was ok as well

Cosy comfort food

Delicious pasta, I has spaghetti with black pepper and truffle creamy sauce and a very reasonably priced glass of wine. Good sized portions and a warm atmosphere. Small establishment so booking is sensible.

Great mains, didn't enjoy the pudding

Fantastic resturant, delicious food with such a good selection of pastas and pizzas. The only thing was I didn't enjoy the pudding - found it pretty bland, and it was pretty expensive for what it was, if it hadn't been for that then I'd have given 5 stars.

Really great food but expensive

Managed to get a seat without a reservation but you may need to book.
We had the Supplì Romani as a starter that was crispy, tomato(y) and paired really well with the mayo supplied.
For mains we tried the Ortolana pizza which if you like garlic is a must! Garlic base with cheesy, sausage and veg topping. This was really good.
We also had the Mezze Maniche alla Zozzona. The pasta was a little too al dente for my liking but the sauce was amazing.
It isn’t the cheapest place you will find but it is well worth a visit

Absolutely amazing food!

This is a very cute and cozy restaurant that served vegan amazing food. For the main course, I had Gnocchi Salsiccia E Crema Tartufata and my husband had the Mezza Maniche alla Zozzona. Both dishes were full of flavor and had the perfect amount of sauce. 💯 out of 10 would eat here again and again!

Amazing

We had the fried bolognese as a starter, delicious! Our pizza with garlic base, although on the greasier side, was absolutely amazing. No vegan cheese which sticks to the gum, yum!
Also had an alcoholfree Cocktail and was only charged with a juice, which I appreciated!

Pros: Awesome food , Sweet location, Nice staff

Cons: No official Mocktails

Omg yes!!

We stopped by on our first day in Edinburgh. We did a reservation in advance, which was clever, because the place filled very soon.

We shared the Foccacia as a starter. Had two types of Gnocchi and Tiramisu and Cheese cake for dessert.

It was all delicious and we‘ll come back for sure!!

Pros: Yummy, Tasty, Happy place

Our First Roman

I'm not one to rave about or push five star reviews at a drop of a hat, but I'm about to do that for Sora Lela Roman Vegan Restaurant in Edinburgh, so strap in.

The restaurant itself is intimate, with most of the magic happening well out of view. A well stocked bar and desert cabinet takes centre stage at the back and is the first thing you see when you walk in.

We loved all the Roman "sayings" art that decorates the dining area and bathroom, particularly the sti cazzi one. 😂😂🎉🎉

To start I had a large glass of red wine and Peg had a pear juice, followed by Bruschetta Picante and Zoccolette Alla Sorrentina. I've been vegan for 19 years and I have NEVER tasted vegan cheese like that! The bruschetta was topped with nduja and blue cheese, a combination that was rich, with a little kick at the end. The pizza dumplings had a tomato and mozzarella sauce on them that would rival and indeed exceed any non-vegan version, with the parmesan shavings topping off the dish perfectly. We kept looking at each other as we dug in. We knew this whole meal was going to be special.

For mains we ordered the Mezze Maniche alla Carbonara and Gnocchi Salsiccia e Crema Tartufata. In English that's carbonara and cheesy gnocchi, but my GOD it wasn't the basic, flavourless nonsense you would expect had a British person cooked these dishes. They were absolutely SENSATIONAL. The carbonara tasted as if the sauce had been flavoured with their home made bacon fat and the black pepper cut through the creamy sauce beautifully. With the other dish, the sauce stuck to the ridges in the gnocchi and filled my mouth with delight. Truffle is such a delicate flavour and to pair that with a smokey sausage and make it work? *Chef's kiss.*

Desert is something I'm still thinking about on a daily basis: a traditional tiramisu served in a cappuccino mug and a white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake. Incredible, delicious.....next level vegan cooking.

At the end we had a brandy old fashioned and an amaro Montenegro. (The brandy was me liking the look of a bottle in that well stocked bar and the member of staff was more than happy to oblige. )

Pros: Flavours (cheese magicians!), Knowledgeable staff, Variety

Cons: A little expensive , A bit tight to navigate around at times

Amazing vegan Italian food!

I really enjoyed my dinner at Sora Lella. The 4 cheese gnocchi dish was deliciously cheesy! I had the mozzarella stuffed rice balls and they were amazing, plus the hazelnut tart blew my mind. I only wish I had enough space to try the pizzas, as they looked amazing!

I thought it was good that everything on the menu was vegan, even, for example, the cheesy dishes and the meat feast pizza. And it had a really clear layout and clear allergen info.

Top job!
