We went to this restaurant because it seemed to be the best one in Sofia according to the comments. We walked through the city (35 min) expecting to taste the delicious food that people were describing but after ordering and eating our expectation were not exceed. The food was overall good, we ordered soup of the day, noodles, pad Thai and herbal bread. The soup of the day was a cold one and it had an interesting flavor but we felt it average, the herb bread were more like crackers (we were expecting smh more like sourdough). The pad Thai was too sweet and had a lot of soy mince (maybe tempeh would be less heavier and more interesting?) the noodles were great. The service was nice and we got seats despite of not booking in advance. Is not fine dinning but it’s something in between, for Bulgarian prices we felt that was expensive (maybe that the food didn’t reach our expectations might increase this feeling). Overall is a nice and cozy place with an interesting concept but that didn’t reach out expectations

We visited Soul Kitchen twice - dining outside both times as we visited in the summer.
Read moreOn both visits, we had the cheese board which was amazing! Note that it doesn’t come with bread so you need to order some (or crackers if you prefer) - we opted for the einkorn bread. The cheese is made locally using cashew, and came in 4 different flavours.
Our first night we had pasta - tagliatelle with mushroom and linguine with pesto. On the second night, we both chose the stir fry, which had South East Asian influences, and came in a bowl with rice, pea protein and lots of veg - our favourite main, with a reasonable kick.
If you sit outside, unless you have children, I recommend you don’t sit next to the swing which, if there are kids at the restaurant, can become a boisterous focal point. Other than that, location is great and the outside acquires a warm glow after sunset.
The people working here were very friendly and helpful.
Pros: Excellent food - especially cheese board, Great ambience, Friendly people
Cons: Avoid the table by the swing

What a Place! First a bit sceptical, because of the wide range of different food-styles (Pasta, Pizza, Asian, Bulgarian etc.) but then went there all evenings of our 3 days stay in Sofia. All the different Items made with loveand there own style of cooking. So don't expect an italian Pizza, but expect a great soul-kichten-style Pizza. Amazing where as well the Brucchetta with a homade "cheesespread" out of Cashew and Sunflowerseeds with caramelized onions. Just wow! Also the Tagilatelle with Porcini or the Stewed Vegetables where just great! Highly recommended! Still when the prices are high for Sofia.

Delicious vegan food with some gluten free options. We paid 103 leva for 2 main dishes, 2 bevereages and 2 desserts. The place is really comfy and pleasant.

Can compete with the best vegan restaurants in the world. Everything was perfect and they make amazing cheeses. we had artichoke dip, the cheese plate, the grilled cauliflower couscous and a crepe and it was a real orgasm in the mouth. it's a little far from everything but it's an incredible gem that's worth every step.

It is a very cosy location in summer with outdoor seating, dim lighting, slow jazz and green atmospehere. The food is delicious and they have a great selection. I love that they wrote the portion sizes on the menu (how many grams), so that you could order accordingly. the staff was very helpful and friendly. It is on the pricey side, but good for a little treat for yourself.

Difficult to choose from the menu! We had the hummus & crisp breads to start (crisp breads were excellent) and a pasta & noodle dish for main. Strawberry & white choc raw cake was the star of the show! Really enjoyed the Bulgarian red wine too (only had a glass, didn’t catch the name). If we had longer in Sofia, we’d have returned for sure.

A vegan trailblazer in Sofia - Edit
Soul Kitchen pretty much pioneered vegan food in Sofia when the concept was non-existant. They started offering healthy, delicious and well-presented plant-based food when nobody else was doing so. The atmosphere is lovely, the food is spectacular and they have a garden that's a perfect oasis for summer. A bit costly for local standards, but understandably so given the quality of the ingredients.

Everything I tried was amazing. I can especially recommend the Spinachi Pancake. The food is carefully prepared and from what I can tell the ingredients are healthy. I also have to mention the nice location here. Especially sitting outside in the garden. Of course, all of this comes at a price, but I think it was worth it. I will definitely come by again next time I'm in Sofia.

Don’t skip this place if you are in Sofia, the food and whole dining experience is exceptional. Fantastic and varied menu with an additional daily specials card. Everything cooked fresh with care to flavour and presentation. I went for summer rolls, sunrise noodles and a mind blowing brownie / meringue / mascarpone dessert. Good value considering the whole experience.

We had a wonderful dinner here. The ambiance felt elevated but still casual. It’s hard to find fully vegan restaurants that offer a full dining experience like this. It was pricier but worth it. Chocolate peanut tahini cake was out of this world.

The interior is cosy, looks like they might also have an outdoor area though.
They played some ambient jazz pop covers, which I wasn't a big fan of but oh well.
I had the Mediterranean Pizza which tasted incredible. I loved that the crust was coated in spice.
Not terribly cheap but alright given the quality of the interior, service, and food.
