Delicious treats in a peaceful place! - Edit
The drinks and sweets/desserts were outstanding. I had a tart, while others in my group had a raw seasonal cake, and scones. All of them were delicious. The teas were also complex and amazing.

Pros: Unique blends, Delicious foods
Cons: Not super filling

Stunning vegan desserts, ethereal vibes - Edit
I had one of the best vegan desserts of my life at Stardust — a seasonal peach custard tart that was perfect in every way. Not too sweet, and the soy milk-based custard was exactly the right flavor and consistency.
Read moreIt was difficult to decide on just one dessert. Next time, I’ll try the vegan panna cotta. The tea selection was expansive and premium as well.
The ambiance inside the small cafe/shop was relaxing, rustic and beautiful. It’s a place you’ll want to visit regularly.
Pros: Vegan desserts, Tea selection , Atmosphere

Cozy and calming - Edit
I popped into this warm, comfy place with so much chill outside. Nothing like a rustic environment and warm, homemade soup and house-specialty tea as the perfect anecdote

High quality vegan cafe - Edit
There aren't many seats, so please reserve a spot first! A lunch set consists of a small dessert, starter, main course and drinks. I have to say that the skills of cutting up veggies of Japanese is really amazing, see how thin the veggie is! Also, the main course of the day is actually fried vegetables. Even the vegetables are being fried, it can still maintain its fresh taste? ! How could it be possible? There are one or two vegetables in it that I didn't like to eat, but I finished them all because the taste is just too good!

Stardust is truly and experience in its own, including everything from the ambience to the table settings to the menu. Acute attention to detail is paid and the quality shows through.

Gorgeously decorated interior, peaceful atmosphere - Edit
Stardust is a machiya (traditional wooden house) turned cafe that is one of the most beautifully decorated place I have ever visited. It is a good place to chill for the afternoon and get inspiration. The food can be pretty limited because you have to make a lunch reservation one day ahead but they have desserts and tea if you decide to walk in. I had the scones and coffee (which you have to purchase separately from the barista working in the cafe) which were pretty good although I find the scones a little too hard for me. I did not try the tea because I am not a tea person but they have an extensive tea menu with different types of tea around the world. Overall I would recommend this place for the aesthetic and mood.

The most aesthetically pleasing cafe I've ever been to - Edit
The space is beautifully textured and balanced!
Read moreI had tea and scones. The scones were spicy and served with homemade orange jam and tofu cream. They were yummy.
This is the kind of space you just want to be in. So pretty and everything is just right.
Also they do advise on their website that reservations are required for lunch. Just not in English. The owner speaks great English though so don't be afraid to ring and book.
Pros: Beautiful, Tasty
Cons: Some people might prefer larger servings for the p

Delicious food, tranquil , welcoming ambiance - Edit
We had a delicious vegan lunch (cous-cous with roasted veggies and tomato sauce) with a choice of black tea or herbal tea,(1500Y) and after , we shared a fabulous slice of raw cake (fig-grapefruit).
Read moreStardust is in a lovely setting, a restored machiya, with a small garden space, about 15 minutes walk from the Kamigamo Shrine, or the Kyoto Botanical Garden. We requested a reservation for lunch by email, through the Stardust website link, and got a positive reply within 30 minutes. (This was the same day, so we were lucky to find a way to make a reservation with little advance planning.)
There is a small sales area at the entrance with teas, organic cotton or wool clothing and other attractive items . The friendly owner speaks English. Although there are maps on this site, on Tabelog, and directions on the cafe's website, we used GPS to find it!
Pros: Lovely decor & peaceful atmosphere, Tastefully prepared vegan dishes, Friendly staff
Cons: Might be hard to find

Requires Reservations for Lunch - Edit
I made a special trip here, and despite not saying so on their website, found out that a reservation is needed three days in advance for a 1500 Yen lunch. They did offer some tea, but at that point I was starving so went back into Kyoto for lunch.
Read moreThe place seemed very nice, and had a great vibe. If someone tries the place and finds it amazing I'll happily update or remove this review, but since there are no reviews I would suggest the short-term visitor to Kyoto to not reserve ahead and travel this far for this meal.
Pros: nice staff and interior (small shop)
Cons: reservations required (not on website), a bit far from anywhere else
