Cool little spot

Came here today during a day trip to Glasgow and loved this place’s vibe. Super friendly staff and the reuben I had and enoki sandwich my wife had were excellent. The tomato soup and draughts too! Highly recommend.

Lunchtime visit

We visited in June 2026 and had a late lunch. Food was good. I had the soup and hubby had the Reuben. My only criticism was the toilets were pee stinky and no toilet paper in the first stall. Not even an empty holder.

Pros: All vegan, Plenty of choice

Cons: Smelly toilets , Not good if you’re an alt meat fan.

Love this place!

I wish my trip included more than 1 day in Glasgow, I would be here every day to work my way through the menu. Also would love to come back at night when there is live music. I came for lunch and had a great meal of fried pieorgis, fried enoki mushroom burger, and a creamy vanilla panacotta. Plus there were specials! Everything looked good, it was hard to decide.

Nice food, but pricey

Bohemian dive bar vibes in a back alley but actually a completely vegan bar. Good range of options on the menu. I had the banana blossom tacos which were good but very small for the price. Gets 4 stars instead of 5 for that.

Pros: Fully vegan, Vibe, Options

Cons: Portions, Price

Beautiful food

I had the sandwich and soup deal. Both items had complex powerful tastes which I enjoyed enormously. The soup of the day was Red Thai and was quite mildly spiced, liquid, peppery and good. The Reuben sandwiches get that powerful NY combination of flavours with pickle, mayo, mustard and (vegan) meat. Very meaty in fact, falling out the sides meaty.

Pros: Great food, Quiet enough at lunchtime to get lost in a book, Friendly staff

Alternatief vegan restaurant

A super fun alternative restaurant in Glasgow with a fully vegan menu. The atmosphere is relaxed and a bit quirky, which adds to its charm.

We had the lima beans with dill and the tempeh with potatoes both dishes were surprisingly flavorful and clearly prepared with care. The combination of textures and herbs made it especially enjoyable.

Definitely recommended if you’re looking for creative vegan food beyond the usual options

Brilliant location

Decent food, starters and main brought out at the same time. Quick service. Quite noisy acoustics and toilets need more regular checks.

Go-To Vegan Restaurant in Glasgow

The food at stereo never disappoints. They have the best buffalo cauliflower ever! The meals are always hearty and delicious. Both vegan and non-vegan friends and family have loved it here too when we have brought them along or recommended it.

Delicious & Filling with Friendly Service

The “haggis” was tasty and well-sized portion. The cauliflower wings were just the right combination of spicy and savory with a refreshing dip. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. The beer selection had a good variety. Finally the vibe of the place sets it apart. People there were clearly all enjoying themselves.

Hidden gem with good food and service

Vegan haggis was great as someone who has never had haggis before. Definitely more appetizing than the real thing. The fennel burger was good too.

Pros: Menu variety, Tasty, Reasonable prices

Cons: None

Why was it soo loud

At first sight it seemed really well. While we were seated i noticed the extreme noise. Every customer was screaming (i know this is not the fault of the restaurant) but i could not even focus on the menu or have a conversation at our own table. Maybe turn the music down a bit? While choosing our food we were asked 4/5 times (by every staffmember) if we knew what we wanted to order. While having had 2 bites of our main, they asked if we wanted desert. All in all it really seemed like they were rushing us. The noodles were salty as hell.

Pretty Consistently Good

In general I prefer the sister restaurant Mono, but I've had some great food at Stereo too now. I particularly recommend the small plates, which are super tastey.

Pros: Small plates are very tastey, Great music

Needs to up its game

I’ve been going to Stereo for years and years. The last three times I’ve visited I’ve been disappointed: service is often slow/poor/not enough staff on. One time we were forgotten about completely.
Went in last night, noted some new items on the menu. We had the Seitan thing with onions, which was ok but I wouldn’t order again; the tempeh bourginon (which wasn’t as good as the version they were doing last year) and a side of roasted cabbage. Shared one portion of Sticky toffee pudding, which was priced at £10 and was stodgy and pretty tasteless. That’s London prices- but only worth paying if it’s worth eating.

I’d suggest they revisit what used to work well- their soup and sandwich options were always good and fairly priced. Please be better as I don’t want to stop coming here.

Food too salty, very disappointed

Stereo was the first fully vegan restaurant I went to 12 years ago and I've returned many times since when I've been in Glasgow. Never again sadly. The 3 of us ordered 3 different things and none of us enjoyed our choices. As several people have commented, my dish was unbearably salty. The restaurant was uncomfortably cold too.

Delish

The tempeh bourginion was absolutely delish! Decent cocktail list too. My friends loved their food too. It was a bit chilly in the restaurant but otherwise a lovely experience.

WAAAY too salty!!!

Saltiest meal I’ve had in a long time. So much so I’m still feeling the effects the next day. I really wanted to like this place for being fully vegan. The vibes are fantastic! Food came out hot and beautifully plated. The initials flavors were great, but as we ate more it because apparent how salty everything was. Not just one dish, but all three: soup of the day (split pea), the mushroom sandwich and the Stereo burger. I’m hoping our dishes on that day were an aberration, but seeing a few other reviews mentioning salty dishes, I’m afraid it might just be how they conceive of flavor and cook, which is truly a disappointment. Vegan food does/should not need to be overly salty to taste good!!! If anyone from Stereo reads this, please check in with your chef and check your recipes!

Cons: WAAAAY too salty!!!

Plats à qualité variable

Les noodles sont malheureusement trop salées, avec un arrière-goût âcre, nous n’avons pas pu les finir… Dommage, car le lieu est très sympathique et inclusif !

Very salty noodles

Myself and a friend had the Dan Dan noodles (me) and the Stereo Burger (him). Burger was tasty. However the chips and the noodle dish were super salty and I couldn’t finish my meal (which is quite unusual for me!)

Pros: Friendly staff, Nice range of options on menu, Good location

Cons: Not many healthier options, Dan Dan Noodles were overly-salty, Dark inside

delicious and great range

stopped here for lunch and enjoyed 3 small plates and the cheesecake for dessert. Both of us really enjoyed this (my partner gives 5/5, i give 4.5/5), great range and really delicious flavours. You can tell a lot of attention has gone into developing the dishes with a personal favourite being the dumplings with fried capers. We are also both still thinking about the soy labneh and would definitely recommend. My only criticism was the enoki mushrooms being a little salty and the cheesecake could have been softer, both dishes STILL delicious.

Pros: range, flavours, freshness

Good vegan scottish dishes

The portions are good. I had the vegan haggis with mashed potato and it was filling. It felt like comfort food on a chilly day. They also have non-alcoholic beer.
