Incredible

Awful place

Awful food. I used to go here before the refurb and went once after the refurb and I must say I am bitterly disappointed. Food quality is just as poor as before and the price has gone up!

Just don’t waste your time on this one imo. Might as well spend your £10.90 on a burger from temple of seitan or a whatthepitta vegan donner or something.

Life saver

Such an amazing place if you’re on a budget AND hungry. Got a takeaway box to fill for £6 which is really good for London in this day and age. The staff are so lovely as well and the variety of food is excellent, both ‘meatier’ dishes, starters and fresh/raw slaws and salads.

the great cheap thai buffet

Dec 2016
Once upon a time there opened an all you can eat Thai buffet in Greek St , Soho. We couldn't believe how amazing it was. All Vegan and eat as much as you like! A year or so later there were about 10 franchises of the the same, the best of which was Joi on Percy St off Tottenham Court Road. Sadly there are only two (possibly 3) left that are still vegan. This restaurant is a beacon of joy stuck out in the misery that is Shepherds Bush where there is SFA else vegan to eat.
The buffet is extensive, featuring salads, hot and cold dishes, noodles, rice, roast potatoes, lots of fake meat and some sweet dishes for desert! A real bonus at this place is that the worker spoke good enough English to be able to discuss the ingredients of each dish, so those trying to avoid sugar etc could eat with ease.
Great it's still going, go support it!

Returned for an evening meal on the 24th Feb 2019 and found the buffet to be almost identical to how it was 3 years ago! Still a great selection of vegan savoury food, some hot some cold (I think some reviewers don’t realise that many dishes are intentionally served cold!) For sure this is not quality food, some is not even that healthy given the fat and sugar content but it is vegan and for London it is cheap. It is great to see so many locals popping in to eat there. This place has outlasted most of the other All You Can Eat Thai Buffets maybe because the rent is cheaper in Shepherds Bush than central London! But whatever there Thai Fo is right next to the evil Mcdonald’s offering a cruelty free alternative, hurrah!

Back again in April 2024!
Tai still caters to the cheap n cheerful vegan market, perfect for hungry folk who can’t afford them likes of wolf and lamb, Mildred’s etc. Don’t expect classy presentation but do enjoy all the fake meats you can manage! Great to see this place still alive. All you can eat buffet now costs £9.

Pros: Wide choice, Cheap cost, All you can eat.

Great value in London

"If you're navigating the city with discerning eaters or little ones in tow, this spot is a lifesaver. For just £10, indulge in an all-you-can-eat feast where you call the shots—pick what you love and pass on the rest. While it may not boast the pinnacle of Chinese cuisine, it's a delightful dive into hawker-style dining with a plethora of options to please your palate. Go ahead, feast to your heart's content!"
I had been under the previous owners and it hasn’t changed at all.

Did they change the food quality or is it exactly the same as before? Also have they refurbed those grotty toilets downstairs?

All you can eat vegan. That’s all.

I don’t get why some people give a bad rating here. What do you expect. It’s basically drunk or hangover food or if you don’t wanna pay another 35 for mains. They’re not gonna win any awards, but that’s not the point. It’s an all you can eat vegan buffet so yeah some might have been sitting there for a bit. Considering all of that it’s a good option. They have a nice selection or mock meats and veggies. Whenever I went there it was pretty fresh and I appreciate that I can pick whatever I like and don’t have to worry about stuff I don’t (not too keen on mushrooms and they pop up a lot in vegan dishes).

Best Buffet I have ever been

This place is honestly the most amazing buffet I have ever eaten at, fully vegan and lots of choice! Food is tasty, and best of all its 10 pounds! ( 9 pounds before 16:00 and take away is 6 pounds, cash only ) of course the interior of the place has some paint etc that doesn’t look great, but hey for 10 pounds its great! they also have toilets downstairs. overall a must visit if you are are in London!

Pros: Great price, Tasty food, Kind staff

Good price but too salty/not fresh

If you’re pretty hungry then go for it but not great food, very oily/salty - although maybe this changes on other nights, not sure?

Not good at all :(

This was one of the only times I’ve walked out a place & left the food.

The place seemed dirty, I had a bad feeling from the start. The food did not taste nice it did not seem fresh and was greasy.

Then I saw the review from other people saying the food had made them sick so I made my excuses and left

Great value but very beige food

Was a little apprehensive after reading recent reviews but experienced no issues to report. Loads of choice, and can't argue with the cost (£10 unlimited buffet). Food a little bland though and all seemed to be quite oily and greasy. Would I go back? Possibly if I was in the area, but I wouldn't rush to.

Good food and bargain price

No frills place with a great buffet selection, just over the road from the Shepherd’s Bush Empire. Food was spot on and staff friendly.
The coconut tapioca dessert was a real surprise and yummy!

Pros: Price!, Good choice of dishes, Location

It's gross, dirty, and made me ill

I was violently sick after eating here. The place was dirty, the food was cold/lukewarm and super oily. I've eaten all around London and never seen a place as dirty as this. It may be cheap but it's not worth the stomach cramps and sickness after. Avoid.

Does the job

To-fu is a typical Chinese buffet but vegan it's very cheap less than 10 pounds for all you can eat but don't expect food that will blow your mind expect comfy tasty food and being less than 10 quid you can't complain that much its good for what they offer.

Pros: Vegan buffet , Affordable pricing , Food is classic comfort Chinese food

Cons: Nothing is amazing but nothing was bad either, Could have some steamed dumpling options , Restaurant is a bit basic in decor

Cheap and very cheerful full me!

I wavered on the 4 to 5, but decided on the 4 because as it's all vegan and very good value for money, it's not really a 5 star atmosphere and if limited to time in London I'd prioritise somewhere more expensive and creative. But then you're not paying for that. I preferred the chicken dishes to the one tofu dish they had (I love tofu). I loved piling on the cabbage and broccoli and pretending I was being a bit healthy! If you accept it for what it is - all you can eat greasy Chinese food - it's wonderful.

It's ok

I had a mixed experience here. The food is really cheap at just £8 for an all you can eat lunch buffet (or £9 for dinner) and some of it was quite tasty, but the quality was lacking. As I was eating the food I found it relatively enjoyable but it did feel very unhealthy. It was also lacking in vegetables and quite a few of the dishes labelled mixed veg dishes didn't even contain any vegetables. The ‘vegetable tempura’ was one such example – it contained no vegetable and instead seem to be made of a kind of dough, I'm not sure what it was. Unfortunately, the food also irritated the roof of my mouth to the point that I regretted eating here for the rest of the day.

The restaurant itself was also pretty dirty and I'm not sure I would trust what was going in the food.

Overall I think it's okay if you're just looking for a large meal at a cheap price but I wouldn't return here myself.

Pros: Lots of food for a cheap price, Some of it was quite tasty

Cons: Food irritated the roof of my mouth, Food lacking in veg and general quality, Dirty restaurant
