Flavorful dinner - Edit
We ordered takeout of the orange tofu and tomato garlic tofu, with sides of rice, garlic kale, and sweet potatoes. Everything was really tasty. The orange tofu tasted too bitter to me (like orange peel), but my partner really liked it. The kale and sweet potatoes were amazing. We also got a tasty vegan hostess cupcake. Can’t wait to go back and try it in person!
Read moreUpdate: we went back in person and the portions were a lot bigger than the takeout portions. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere inside was great. Would definitely come again!

The menu clearly labeled the vegan options, the garlic tomato tofu was amazing! Also got one of the small cakes which was delicious as well. Would definitely recommend and am planning to go back😄

Sweet 27 is a great place for vegan food! They have several tofu dishes such as orange chikn (tofu), general tsos, garlic and tomato, etc. All of their sides are vegan except for the plantains, but you can ask for them to be made vegan if they hold the yogurt sauce. The sweet potatoes, chana masala, mashed potatoes, and garlic kale were all phenomenal. One of the major stars of the show was the arancini appetizer! They also have a number of excellent desserts! If you haven’t tried them, definitely give them a shot. Everything I have tried was very flavorful. The portions are great and the prices are very reasonable.

The peanut butter chocolate tart was really the saving grace for the meal I got. it was SO GOOD!! The food itself however... I got the orange tofu, which seemed to be one of their main dishes and wow I don’t know why. it was so chewy and slimy and just tasted bad. the chana masala was quite literally the worst thing I’ve ever tasted. not fresh at all. also the price! $27 for a tart and an entree?? madness. I’ll for sure come back for the tart but other than that, not for me

Food can be a little inconsistent, but I adore specific items such as the cauliflower manchurian and collards. But, the vibe is what makes it special. It’s a chill neighborhood place with great service. Also, try the vegan chocolate peanut butter tart.

Great food, more vegan options please! - Edit
There were a million doors, we walked in through a weird side door. We got Indian tostada & batata, both were good. For main I got some orange tofu dish that was also pretty good. Then the bakery next door only had two vegan options which’s was sad but I got a chocolate raspberry ganache and it was good.

The menu and restaurant itself are so eclectic. There's such a unique range of options and I understand they change things up. Normally, that wouldn't be a great sign, but I think it works here. Service and prices could be better. My group consisted of myself (vegan), vegetarians, and an omnivore. Everyone seemed satisfied. I agree with another reviewer that the fried tofu appetizer is killer. The sauce makes it. We also got desserts and were happy with them. I had the chocolate peanut butter tart and it was delicious. Will definitely try this place again.

Get the tofu! - Edit
The fried tofu appetizer is so yummy. You can either get a spicy or sweet sauce with it and both are great. I love the atmosphere of the restaurant side of Sweet 27 and the cafe side is cute and the staff are very friendly. Even if you don't like gluten free food you will still love it. The vegan cupcake offerings are a little lacking, though.

The food here is really good. There is a strong Indian influence, but also Caribbean and Central American flavors. It combines for a creative fusion that is currently unique in Baltimore, particularly considering how vegan friendly it is. They've changed their menu and no longer have a couple of the vegan dishes I liked, but you can still get a very good vegan meal. I recommend combining a few of the vegetarian sides (all are vegan if you ask for no yogurt on the black beans). This is an incredible bargain. Three sides are only $9 and it is a lot of food. I got four sides ($11) once and could not finish it. As for appetizers, the veggie fritters (i.e. pakoras) are vegan and amazing. Sweet potato fries are also good.
Read moreDespite really enjoying the food, I can't put my finger exactly on why I don't think to go here more often. It's a combination of things, I suppose. The servers are polite, but sometimes I've felt rushed through my meal, even when it is not at all busy. Other times there have been large parties that dominated the servers' attention and my food has taken a long time to arrive. I also don't really care for their seating. The tables and chairs aren't ideal for two people to sit comfortably together for an intimate meal and conversation. In general the seating arrangement in the dining area seems a little off, like it needs a feng shui makeover or something. But this is probably not something that would bother everybody.

Nice food selection- tends to the spicy side but very good. Menu changes periodically but always has a decent selection of vegan or items that can be made vegan. Staff knowledgeable on vegan needs. Have tried MEet27 about 4 times now and have liked all the dishes that I've tried. Good place to take a group for a nice casual dinner.

Food: 8. The only reason I didn't utterly love it is because I'm a wuss when it comes to spicy, and this place seems to have generally spicy food. I had been wanting to try this place for a while and finally got the chance at a Baltimore Vegan Drinks event. I went a little crazy trying stuff because of my excitement. I got the potato "ball" appetizer (not what it was called, but I can't remember the name), the Indian sampler, and a few different cupcakes for dessert. My boyfriend got the sweet potato fries. All the food was pretty good. However, normally dessert is my favorite part of a meal, but all 3 cupcakes I got (and actually ate later that night at home) were dry and not all that flavorful. So, I actually recommend the dinner food more.
