MIND-NUMBINGLY DELICIOUS VEGAN FOOD - Edit
Get the vegan bento box. Huge portions. Everything is incredible. Perfect. Really. Prices are so reasonable too. Order online, despite the long waits in person they always have the food ready in 15 or less.

Excellent sushi - Edit
We arrived here for dinner at 4:45 p.m. on July 11, 2024 to beat the rush. We still had to wait about five minutes for a table. You order at the counter and they bring your food to the table. I ordered the Vegan sushi set with various types of vegan sushi.

The queue is worth a wait - Edit
I always pop in here for some vegan yasai set sushi or vegan ramen. Good food for really good price. If you don’t want to wait in the queue you can always order from their online website which also gives you 10% discount on first order and it’s ready to be collected in 10-15 minutes. One of my fave spots!

Favourite. - Edit
As a Japanese food lover, this place is my favourite. I come everytime I can. Best quality/prize. You normally have to wait to be seated but I've never waited more than 15 minutes. Normally way less. It's small but cozy and warm. Food is amazing and so many vegan options ♥️

Amazing!! Highly recommend - Edit
Had a lovely time at Takara. Queued outside for around 15 mins - queue looked long however moved very fast. To order you go up to the till and pay there.
Read moreGot the vegan sushi patter to start - which was amazing! So much flavour, and variety!
For mains, got the Teppanyaki Tofu Steak (vegan) and a yaki-soba (contains egg - I am veggie). When ordering these and the sushi, the waitress notified me that the yaki-soba contained egg (as stated on the menu), just incase I had not realised, as the rest of my order was vegan.
I thought this was so lovely and the staff are clearly knowledgeable about veganism.
The Teppanyaki Tofu Steak was the star of the show, tasted incredible, large portion and came sizzling!
Pros: Great price, large portions, Sushi AMAZING, Great awareness of veganism
Cons: Had to queue outside

Delicious vegan options - Edit
Takara had quite a diverse range of vegan options, including sushi, ramen, a tofu steak and many others.
Read moreThe portion sizes were another positive, usually I’ve found that Japanese food (sushi in particular) leaves you wanting more, with tiny portion sizes. This was not the case with takara, we each got a sushi dish and shared an agedashi tofu and were quite full by the end.
We did have to wait in line for 20 minutes and alledgedly most of the time the wait is more than that, but it was worth it
Pros: Tasty food, Good portion sizes, Relatively cheap
Cons: Not all vegan (yuck)

Can’t wait to go again - Edit
Small dining room so we had to wait in line outside the shop during busy dinner hours but it was worth the wait!
Read moreClearly marked vegan options (miso soup was not marked vegan but the staff confirmed it was). They had a nice variety from rolls, to bento boxes, and ramen dishes. Food was very fast to come out and potion sizes were good.

Funky restaurant - Edit
Loved the vibe of this place, definitely recommend if you are in Dublin. Me and my boyfriend shared the vegan sushi selection, vegan ramen, edamame and agadashi tofu (which was definitely the highlight!)

My favourite place for Japanese food in Dublin - Edit
I really love the vegan ramen here, it is so satisfying and warming in Dublin's wet weather. This place is usually pretty busy so it's not a bad idea to make a reservation if you want to sit down.

Great taste but beware - Edit
there was a piece of meat (chicken) in my vegan ramen. So there is probably some cross-contamination going on. Just beware of that. The taste was great tho, also of the avocado rolls.
Read moreEdit: go stomach issues after visiting, could be possible that they use the same broth for every Ramen so it might not be actually vegan

Quick, tasty - Edit
Not the best vegan sushi I've ever had (rather basic) but it was nice enough and the prices were fine! For two we ordered the seaweed salad, veggie gyozas, the vegan mix sushi plate and two beers and it all was less than €30. You get served quickly, the atmosphere is cute, and the veg options are clearly labelled on the menu.

Not a huge number of vegan options here but what they have are amazing. The vegan ramen is rich and filling, but it's the teriyaki tofu steak that brings me back every time: sticky and nicely-textured and lots to fill up on. Sushi is also as good as you get anywhere in Dublin.

Good ramen - Edit
I had the vegan ramen, which was very taste for me, it comes with a vegan side of 3 different small portions of kimchi, guioza and another one I didn't know what it was.

The day I went was very busy, Friday after Christmas, there was queue to be seated, we had to away about 10 minutes, which was okay for us. Don't know if it's always like that.

Veggie Options - Edit
Tasty and Vegan Ramen. Reasonable prices.
Read moreOnly negative point is the strong smell of fish in the air, I know it’s a sushi restaurant, but just a heads up to smell sensitive vegans. I’m pretty much sure cross contamination occurs in the kitchen, apart from that great place.

Great veggie options - Edit
Delicious food! There were plenty of veggie friendly options - vegan ramen, teriyaki tofu with sautéed veggies and rice, multiple different vegan sushi rolls (including build your own), as well as sides like edamame, miso soup, seaweed salad, etc.
Read moreI got the vegan ramen and it was delicious. LOVE that it came with a little side spread of some seaweed salad, kimche and a dumpling. My friend got the teriyaki tofu with sautéed veggies and rice and it was also delicious - if you’re wanting more veggie, that is the better option! The ramen was delicious but didn’t have the amount of veggies the sauté did. The miso soup and miso broth in the ramen was also really tasty, especially for being vegan (sometimes can be bland).
Pros: Filling veggie options, Really affordable
Cons: Small amount of seating
