Little gem

Cute little restaurant, the mushroom calamari to start with was AMAZING! Also had the Pedro & ChickHUN burger with fries and it came with coleslaw - good value for money as big portions

Delicious menu with a lot of choices!

Me and my partner had an evening meal at Tam’s Kitchen whilst staying at the Miggi on holiday. We struggled to pick from the large menu of exciting choices so shared 3 dishes between us - all delicious! Desert was also incredible (baklava waffles) and I had a delightful cocktail made with homemade baileys!

Pros: Large menu and lots of choice, Delicious food, lots of flavour , Creative cocktails

Amazing food and lovely Staff

As a vegan family we love to be able to have normal meals veganised with some great meat and dairy alternatives. This place delivers that and more.

Glad we came across this place!

Lovely little independent vegan restaurant. Super cute and quirky. Would highly recommend! Only visiting the area for the weekend, and so glad to have found this place - saw it had great reviews so had to check it out. Would love to go back if lived closer and try everything on the menu. I had the fish cake and my friend had the banana blossom fish n chips. The chips were proper chips! And the "fish" was really tasty. Big portions too, we couldn't quite finish because we'd shared a starter. We got cakes to take away because they sounded great, and so glad we did, because had them the next day with hot drinks and they were yummy too. Really lovely staff and a very chilled atmosphere.

Pros: Lovely staff, Really yummy food, Good to support independents

Cons: The coffee & walnut cake was a bit too sweet., The food was a bit of a wait to come.

fantastic, fun and friendly

This place is a gem, the food is excellent! I nearly cried over how good it was, so so much flavour. Carrot cake was the best ever and the “tequila rose” homemade strawberry cream liquor was a delight.

You can definitely tell a lot of love goes into this place. I was served by the owner and had a good chat with her, she is really lovely. If i’m ever in the area again I will definitely come back!

Taste explosion at this independent vegan restaurant

WOW - what an awesome place!!! All vegan restaurant serving such incredibly delicious food including some very naughty but nice treats. It’s a real taste explosion. Get yourself down to Tam’s Kitchen - even if you’re not vegan you will find plenty to like and be supporting a small independent local business. So many unique dishes to try.

It’s a really creative menu with a chance to try new things. Their menu includes burgers, Mac n cheese, tapas dishes, noodles, pad Thai, waffles, cakes, then some more unusual items like breakfast tacos, seitan and bacon pancakes, “steak and eggs” which I am desperate to try their “sinless poached eggs”.

The place has such cool vibes with their fun prints, plants, and pretty twinkly lights. The staff are friendly and attentive.

Now open for some day time hours too, serving Saturday brunch which has meant we have been able to finally go. They do different events eg Tapas evenings, occasional Sunday roast lunches etc. There’s a courtyard garden which we are yet to explore.

I can’t recommend this place enough and am so excited to come back again and again!

Pros: All vegan restaurant!!, Delicious and creative menu, big flavours, Local independent business. Very cool vibes.

Cons: Limited opening times

excellent vegan restaurant

We enjoyed a superb meal here whilst on holiday. Despite not booking, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Husband had the tower burger , fries and coleslaw, and I had the classic burger, fries and coleslaw. Both were excellent quality and huge portions. I asked for mine without the bun, and was served with the burger wrapped in lovely fresh lettuce leaves. Would highly recommend.

Pros: fully vegan, friendly staff, quality tasty food

Cons: none

Great food

Amazing food and great atmosphere. All the food we had was really tasty. Sadly I forgot to take a photo of the mains. We had seitan wings, mini tacos, dan Dan noodles and a chicken burger. I wish I went for the noodles my partner had. Good size portions.

Dog friendly. Great Czech style beer and a really friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend.

What a fantastic find!

With only 14 covers, in a little street back from Paignton seafront, lies this absolute gem of a vegan restaurant. Tam and her team produce absolute vegan deliciousness.

I had chick'n on waffles, and Tracey had a chick'n burger, both with salad and sweet potato fries. Both were really first class and big enough to satisfy a BIG hunger.

We so enjoyed it, we booked and came back for Sunday roast pies... again, chick'n with roast potatoes, yorkshire pudding, plus a medley of vegetables. We picked the extra cauliflower cheese, well worth adding if you're really hungry.

If you're anywhere near Paignton, add this eatery as a 'must visit' and make sure you are hungry!

Pros: Home made seitan, Super friendly staff, Great portions

Good food!

Special burgers, fries, starters, brownies and other delicacies. I really liked the edamame beans (nicely drizzled with chilli glaze) and the crispy gyozas with sauces. I took away a Bourbon brownie - chewy, chocolatey goodness. Will try more of the menu next time I’m in town.

Pros: all vegan, comfort food

Tantalised my taste buds!

Perfect example of faux chick’n & waffles. Really well constructed and reminded me of being in the USA. Service with a smile, can’t fault this place 😁

Southwest gem

We are here on a recent weekend trip to Paignton. I was just not expecting to find a full on vegan restaurant here and would probably have missed it were it not for the tip off from our hosts at The Miggi, Paignton’s vegan B and B. So glad we came as the meal delivered at Tams made our weekend. Noodle dish was so tasty and staff very friendly. I do hope Tams does well here. We felt so welcome with our sprocker spaniel in tow too. I would recommend Tams 100%

Pros: Tasty well presented food, Relax and friendly atmosphere , Fabulous menu

Great little vegan place.

All vegan places are pretty few and far between in Devon, never mind Torbay so I knew I had to visit and support Tams!
We had the mushroom burger with fries, which was absolutely huge! I was so stuffed! It came with locally foraged home made pesto which was lush and the sweet potato fries were delicious.

The lady that served us was really friendly and helpful and we left wishing we had room for desert as the apple tart sounded lush!!

Would definitely go here again!

Pros: Massive portions, Friendly staff, Locally sourced ingredients

Cool plant based location

There are very few vegan-only places in Paignton so Tams obviously gets recommended. We visited on one of their Wednesday quiz nights so probably stayed a lot longer than if we were just eating. The menu is varied but very over-priced for what you get. The main course Tacos are more like a starter portion. And the ‘famous’ Mac ‘n’ cheese was just penne pasta with a cheesy sauce. The fries were good though.

Pros: Vegan-only menu, Friendly place

Cons: Expensive, Small portions

The BEST loaded fries!!

My partner and I (and our dog) visited Tams Kitchen during our recent stay in Paignton. The food was amazing. Having loved curry sauce and chips before being vegan, I was pleased to see Katsu loaded fries on the menu and they did not disappoint!
The ladies were lovely, friendly and professional and they welcome dogs which is great!
Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. I wish you were closer to Bristol!

The staff were great, the place was clean, The food was ok. They went out of there way to provide me with gluten free (and mustard free) foodI felt well looked after. I'm afraid it was to expensive for the small amount of food we got.

Pros: Lovely staff, Nice place, Very helpfull

Cons: To expensive, Small portions

New location but the same great food!

We've ordered from Tam's for delivery many times but have also recently eaten in at the new restaurant which has opened on Winners Street.

The restaurant is bright and clean with everything you already associate with Tam's - their signature logo/art on the wall, great service and delicious food. It's worth booking a table as it is quite a small venue.

We were made to feel very welcome as soon as we arrived. All of our favourites appear to be menu staples - the Mac N Cheese is to die for, they do exceptional fries and fab burgers. You can see into the kitchen from the tables which is cool and can have a bit of a chat with the staff while waiting for the food.

And the food does actually taste better at the restaurant than it did from delivery! From their social media, there also appears to be themed food nights and quiz nights on regularly.
