Delightful Vegan Treats! - Edit
I tried all of their vegan taiyaki, drinks, and mochi, and I really enjoyed them. The flavors are rich and authentic, making for a truly satisfying experience. Some of the mochi were a bit too sweet for my taste, but they might be perfect for you😄

Lovely Japanese dessert place - Edit
Authentic choice of Japanase desserts and teas. I had Matcha tea with oat milk which was incredibly delicious, the best one I had so far.

Wir hatten das Mango-Eis und die fischförmige Waffel mit Adzuki-Bohnen. Beides vegan, beides ganz besonders und köstlich!

Nice dessert place - Edit
We went here to try the Kakigori and while it was good, we were not very impressed. The raspberry syrup was delicious, but overall the Kakigori looked better than it tasted.
Read moreThe Mochi was tasty but a little too sweet.
Overall the quality of the ingredients seems to be very high, but that also leads to prices leaning on the higher side.
I would recommend going here on a hot day to try the Kakigori!
Pros: High quality of ingredients, Unique options, Many vegan options
Cons: A little pricey, Kakigori looks better than it tastes

My favourite desert shop in the world - Edit
The Japanese temple of fluffy, shaved ice with toppings which melt into your mouth like liquid gold. The owners don't make any compromises in quality - everything they offer is a revelation in Japanese cuisine. Fortunately, the vegan dishes don't need to hide as they are crafted with care and were perfected throughout the years.
Read moreAdditionally to deserts they offer vegan bento boxes in the tradition of Japanese mothers.
My girlfriend and I regularly go to Tenzan Lab to enjoy the vegan waffle of the day (Taiyaki), heartwarming teas, expressive mochi tastings or shaved Kakigori ice. Every time I have a kakigori I think - ok, I already know it. It won't surprise - however, each time the tastes explode like a firework and just leaving me with a woooow.
Pros: Japanese, umami, heaven

extraordinary sweets - Edit
I hadn’t seen Taiyaki or shaved ice anywhere in Germany, not to mention vegan options for those. I saw Tenzan Lab's creations on Instagram and was so hyped about visiting on my next trip to Berlin.
Read moreNow, December might not be the best month for ice, but I couldn’t miss this. I had the Hojicha Kakigori with vegan condensed milk (homemade from soy and coconut milk), fresh mochi, anko and green tea syrup. The texture is very interesting - the ice more or less disappears on your tongue. The flavor combination is a classic Japanese one, but you could order more simple versions of the dessert as well, choosing from an array of toppings.
I also ordered some Taiyaki, which were baked fresh for me. The menu lists only one vegan Taiyaki - an anko filled one, but of the daily specials two kinds were vegan, a regular custard and a matcha custard.
I enjoyed everything I ordered.
Half of the restaurant is taken up by the bar, where you can sit and watch the ice being shaved. But if you’re visiting with many people you could sit at the long table at the back.
With my meal I was served cold barley tea, like you would if you were visiting a friends home in Japan, as I was told by the owner.
On the menu all vegan options are marked. Taiyaki and Mochi are available for take-out.
