Had it not been by a personal recommendation, I'd have completely missed out on this place - due to its location quite far away from Wellington CBD. (I walked and it took me about an hour!)

Lovely interiors with plentiful living plants and a nice view overlooking Lyall Bay Beach.

A nice range of vegan options, the food was delicious, filling and reasonably priced. The cafe is in a great location, looking out to Lyall Bay beach if you sit out front, and inside is also very nice with lots of hanging plants etc. The service was really good, friendly and there wasn’t a long wait for our food. Will definitely be going back to try out more off the menu.

As a previous hospitality worker the service was a little rusty but staff were all attentive and friendly.

The Botanist does fancy, cafe brunch food, without the meat. We love that they have some cheap options too - huge bowl of hand cut fries with vegan aioli ($7/8) and a lime soda ($2), yes please.

Delish burgers and sides. We had the jalapeno poppers and the smoked brie. Both were yum. The waitstaff were very attentive and very friendly.
Read moreIt wasn't a budget meal for my family of four but it was worth it. I'd definately recommend that you make a booking as it was crowded even on a monday evening.

Cozy and beautiful cafe/restaurant/ bar offering good options of foods and beverages (including local beers). The staff is super (I mean SUPER) friendly, food is good with a gourmet touch. I highly recommend this place, although a bit pricey.

Good dinner menu options for Vegans and everything is clearly labelled. They offer variable sizes of meals with moderate pricing and great hours for a suburban cafe.
We had the Native Burger (loved the pineapple salsa!), and the BFC (Cheesy!). Both were good portions (not too big!) with tasty flavours and textures. Tasty burger buns too. The vegan aioli with the fries was one of the best we've had in a cafe.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff with good table service. We'll definitely return when we are back on Wellington's South Coast.
Pros: Friendly service. Meals served promptly., Good prices ~ Good Food., Handy location and hours for the nearby airport.

... until I've tried everything on the menu, but that's going to be hard because I also want to enjoy the same things again! Really delicious and inspired food with lots of choice on the menu. The decor is elegant. Overall I really love the place!

Sunday brunch outside it was a wild wet Wellington morning, inside it was warm welcoming and pumping. Great food super friendly attentive waitstaff who were up front about wait time for food. Food didn't disappoint it was well presented and delicious. All organic and vegan options check it out.
