One of the best Scottish restaurants for vegans - Edit
I was so pleasantly surprised with this place.
Read moreFelt like a bit of hidden gem, tucked away around the corner.
Usually vegan options are kind of an afterthought at these kind of traditional Scottish places. But the vegan options here were just amazing!
Had this potato stack with mushrooms to start which was out of this world!
We then had the haggis and the gnocchi for main and they were amazing too!
There was a mix up with the dessert as the menu stated that the pear dish was vegan but got told by the waitress that it turned out it wasn't which was the only disappointment of the night.
The place had a traditional, cosy atmosphere. It felt fancy enough to be a nice place for a special occasion but also relaxed enough for regular night out too.
I would 100% recommend!

Surprisingly good vegan options - Edit
This restaurant serves traditional Scottish food, but has very solid vegan-ified options. We got the vegan haggis and the vegan cod with chips, both surprisingly well executed. Service was good as was the ambiance.

Great venue in a lovely area, good vegan options - Edit
I'd give it 3.5 stars as a non vegan place. A lot of thought has gone into the dishes and care in preparing them, but each dish had a flaw. The haggis neeps and tatties was very delicious, but solely one note (I would have gotten bored without the other dishes). The mixed summer greens was varried in its fresh lovely vegetables, but the citrus dressing was greasy and too plain. And the heritage carrots were overpowered in a tasty but too intense vinegar dressing - with whole cloves that number my mouth. I'll gratefully repeat the visit, it was very close to a fine dining experience, only slightly missed.

Impressive vegan food, despite what the menu says - Edit
We went here for Sunday lunch and were spoiled for choice, with a vegan option on the Sunday roast menu plus at least three choices on the normal menu.
Read moreThe cauliflower steak (Sunday roast) was great, as was the vegan haggis, neeps and tatties.
Pros: Vegan option for Sunday roast , Excellent food, Clearly labelled vegan options
Cons: Nothing marked vegan on the menu
