Opportunity knocks - Edit
The café at Summerhall changed hands a couple of years ago, and I initially thought it was on the up. However, I’m not sure if the venue has regained control or if the owner has become complacent, taking advantage of the prime location without maintaining quality.
Read moreWhile vegan options were listed, none of the sandwiches in bland brown cardboard boxes were vegan. This was somewhat relieving given their unappealing appearance. Your choices are essentially a veg samosa or a salad.
I opted for the salad, which was a nostalgic throwback, and though it was a generous portion and felt fresh, it was so lacking in flavor that I couldn’t finish it. This venue has potential but currently falls short in offering satisfying vegan options.
You could make this place so much better without much work .

I had the aubergine parmegiana and it was tasty and reasonably priced for a decent portion.
