Amazing food and cakes - Edit
I’ve been a customer of TGK for years and can say it has never disappointed, my mum bought my birthday cake from there for my 60th and just wow, all vegan, the non vegans couldn’t even tell me
Read moreBought stuff for special events. Xmas etc, snd never had a bad item.
Yesterday we had vegan be@f rissoles, chocolate cake and banana bread, I just don’t get how they can make it so good, I certainly can’t
Never disappoints
They do eat in and takeaway
I can personally highly recommend TGK the food is amazing and it’s a beautiful place with inside and outside seating

Lovely vegan spot in Newport - Edit
The homemade food here is delicious, with lots of options on offer. I had the seasoned tofu bap with salad and roast potatoes. I would highly recommend the tofu! Will definitely be back.

Nice - Edit
I ordered the Chik’n & Ham–style toasted sandwich, the pastel de nata, and the Victoria sponge cake. The sponge cake was the highlight — soft, light, and topped with a lovely buttercream frosting. The toastie was nice too, especially with the juicy tomatoes inside, though I think it could be even better with some vegan cheeze added.
Read moreThese items were visible in the display unit. They also had other hot food options, but you have to ask because there isn’t a menu for them. They serve a variety of hot drinks as well. I’d love to see a vegan hot chocolate with whipped cream on top in the future.
I tried the pastel de nata because of the great reviews. It’s a Portuguese custard-filled pastry, and while it was well made, I’ve realised I’m just not much of a fan of custard- or cream-filled desserts in general.
I liked the outdoor seating area was dry while it rained.
Pros: 100% Vegan, Nice options
Cons: Needs vegan cheeze, Needs a notice board with the days menu on it

Delicious - Edit
My second time visiting and I went two days in a row for the lunch special. Everything is homemade and full of flavour. I had the lasagna and stew with potatoes and salad. The best option in town for anyone who wants a vegan or healthier option.

Stopped here for lunch with a non-vegan friend. We both enjoyed our lunch. I had the meal deal with the lasagna and it was gorgeous! Great size too. Lots of cake options too for afters. I will be returning.

Fantastic - Edit
The Green Kitchen is a vegan paradise. Every dish bursts with creativity and flavour. Tricia, the owner and chef, has such a warm and personal touch and we were pleasantly surprised to see how she goes above and beyond to accommodate allergies and special requests without hesitation. It’s rare to find that kind of flexibility and care in a restaurant. Kudos Trish. 👏

Always always fantastic - Edit
Consistently always fantastic food. We normally have merendas, pizza scrolls and cakes and they are always delicious. But today we had the Buddha bowl and meatball wrap and they were soooo soooo good. The owner is absolutely lovely. The outside seating is great and very relaxed atmosphere too.

Fabulous & Authentic - Edit
We visited on a warm Saturday afternoon, walking up from town.
Read moreThere was a cool breeze running from the back garden terrace, through the cafe and out of the front door which was a welcome relief in the heat.
We had sausage roll, salad and roast potatoes and the Buddha bowl. Then we had an orange cupcake and a Portuguese custard tart for pudding.
The food was fresh, tasty and perfect for a hot day. The sausage roll was the best I've ever eaten and FAT. 🥰😍
(Accessibility information: One step in, two steps into garden, small gender neutral toilet.)
Pros: Fat sausage rolls, Fresh salad, Wicked cakes
Cons: Not much parking, Some accessibility issuez

Poor - Edit
Went to try the place out. Cakes were small and undecorated at high prices. The savouries weren't much better. Decided to just get a coffee but was told they only stock soy and oat. Can get better vegan options at the non-vegan cafes.

The best pizza my vegan son has ever tasted - Edit
We saw the green kitchen at cwmbrans big even. Myself and my husband shared a lemon drizzle cake which was gorgeous, while my son had vegan ham pizza, he said its the best vegan pizza he's ever tasted (and we've just come back from Rome lol) delicious and fairly priced.

Happy cow doesn't allow changes, unless you pay a monthly fee. It's not really fair to rate a business down based on that.
