An awesome selection of vegan burgers and vegan cheeses. With two menus there is a fully vegan equivalent of all meal options. The team at the Hold is always super friendly and welcoming!

Glad we found this on Happy Cow, as there were a ton of options. We went for the Chicken Sandwich (burger) and the mock chicken was dead on. Totally solid. The mac and cheese was decent, it ate more like the boxed kind but when you need mac and cheese, you need mac and cheese. The service was outstanding as well.

The burger patty was excellent and very much like real beef, the bun had a sweet deliciousness to it, and the Mac and cheese was an excellent way to bulk this into a big, hearty burger.

we ordered 2 pineapple chick'n burgers, with a side of chips and salad, the flagship burger for our son, and the spicy chick'n wings for take away, unbelievably yum, way better than grill'd even better than beyond meat i must say which was a bit of a shock. the chick's wings tasted like the real thing, well done The Hold we'll be back no doubt 👍🏼🌱

Probably one of the best vegan burgers I've ever had. I love that they have vegan versions of everything in the menu. You must try the Captain Jack burger. However the service was pretty non existent the two times I've been there.

They had one menu that could do a vegan option of everything which I think is great! All the vegan burgers are either fake beef or fake chicken which usually scares me - I rather a veggie/bean patty if I can - but I was pleasantly surprised! I had the vegan chicken one which was super light, not chewy like some fake meats can be! And very tasty! The fries are also amazing!

Had lunch here over the weekend. Long list of burgers with a plant based version of each. My burger had vegan chicken, which was delicious! So much flavor and yummy vegan sauces too. Would definitely dine here again.

Read moreIt was a funny Sunday afternoon as I started to eat my usual, vegan loaded fries. But suddenly I felt something in my mouth which wasn’t right. I was shocked to pull out a few inches of metal. There was metal in my food! It looked similar to a cheap stainless steel wool ball. I’m amazed I didn’t cut my mouth or tongue.
I am too afraid to ever eat here again.

The Hold is a dark, wooden place, supposed to be a ship's hold/jail. They have a vegan version of every burger, and serve deconstructed cocktails.

We have ate here quite a bit, it’s a great spot in manly that do loads of vegan options. Burgers, nachos, fake chicken bites and Mac and cheese. They also do amazing cocktails and they let you know what wine and beer is vegan too!

Every single thing on the menu has a vegan option, from the staple burgers to the cheese platters, schnitzels and milkshakes. Simply choose a plant based or an animal based option. Staff are also really helpful in advising on vegan wines. Have been here several times and will continue to go.

Really enjoyed this place in a fun part of Manly. I asked the waiter for the vegan menu and he pointed out that every ‘regular’ dish had a vegan equivalent listed right on the main menu. Nice!

What a great way to finish a day snorkeling! My third trip to The Hold for their amazing burgers. The first time I came with a group of non-vegans, who were happy with their options, and my partner, and we were both ecstatic with ours. Every time since has been the same experience; excellent burgers amd great music (either live or an awesome playlist) to back it up. A hearty nautical theme and, insofar as I can tell as a non-drinker, a good range of beverages as well. Third time certainly won't be the last for me!

The Hold is the perfect place to go with a group of people who are both vegan and non-vegan. Absolutely every item can be made vegan and the quality is equally as good! I wish I could give this place 5 stars: amazing food, great location, reasonable pricing for Sydney and good service too!
