I left stuffed and with a rapid food coma setting in!

I ordered the fresh vegetable roll appetizer, and the Wild Curry Vegetable for my entree. I also decided to try a Thai beer for the first time. The portion sizes here are absolutely huge! The food is so full of flavor, and so good! The atmosphere was pretty quiet, and the floor plan is very wide open and spread apart. The service was extremely fast, and mostly friendly. The only downside was I felt like I was being rushed out of the restaurant. I was asked if I wanted a to go box after I had barely started on my meal.

Pros: Huge Portions , Extremely Fast Service , Flavorful food

Cons: Felt like I was being rushed to leave

Best in Roc!

I’ve been coming to the King and I for as long as I can remember. They have so many delicious vegan options and it’s always super well done.

Lots of options

Great Thai food, there’s a vegetarian menu section and almost everything on it is vegan. Lots of options, and the service is always very fast!

Tofu Chuchee will change your life!

I have been eating at the King & I since before I was vegan, and I was SO HAPPY to learn they had options!
Me and sister (also vegan) always get Tofu Chuchee, Phat Thai Vegetable, Cashew Vegetable and crispy veggie spring rolls!
Also, they’re iced water, when you eat-in is so cold and delicious!
Love the King & I! It’s a hidden gem.

Pros: Lots of options, EXTREMELY fast service, LOTS of seating

Traditional Thai fare solidly delivered

Extensive menu of vegan and vegetarian entrees and appetizers. A distinguishing option regarding tofu was the ability to order tofu fried or not fried. The eggplant vegetable stir fry was good. This place is a popular destination for the university students from RIT and U of R. The seating area is huge. Service is fast and efficient.

Pros: Many vegan options , Tofu add-in available , Excellent service

I’ve only ever ordered the sesame tofu here, but every time it is consistently delicious! Highly recommend

Great food, fast service

The food here is consistently very good and there is a whole page of vegetarian and vegan choices. The service is extremely fast, the people friendly. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, but it is large and there is a certain amount of hustle and bustle. The much smaller back section, however, is quieter and a bit more relaxing.

Always fast, always good

We laugh that the service is so fast here that they start serving even before you sit down. Especially at lunch, they are amazingly quick. It takes away from the pleasure of relaxing eating if you are not in a rush.

This has been a very successful restaurant for over twenty years. Their food is hot and flavorful. They are very good at respecqting vegans. They even hosted the annual dinner of the Rochester Area Vegan Society a few years back.

If you want certain dishes and tell them you are vegan, they will make sure that there are no eggs (like in Pad Thai) or other animal ingredients.

There are a wide range of levels of spice. If you want to play it safe, you could always add spice at the table with a viariety of sauces.

Reliable, tasty...

Pros: Quick, Reliably good, Vegan friendly

Cons: “Rushed” at times
