Wings!!

I have eaten at moonlighter dozens of times. They have actual seitan vegan wings that absolutely slap. They also have a vegan burger with vegan cheese that’s awesome. Cocktails on draft, patio, and dog friendly. I love this spot!

Hit or miss

When this place hits, it’s great. When it doesn’t, it’s inedible.

I have ordered the vegan tacos from here probably 20 times. Early on, it was always great. But for some time now, about 60% of the time the tacos are inedibly spicy, strangely tangy, and extremely mushy with the shells just disintegrating. I don’t bother anymore.

The vegan burger is pretty consistently ok. Nothing compared to a beyond burger on the grill, but a good Burger King alternative.

The tots, if you order online, have shrunk over the past few months. You now get half the amount for the same price. They are also going to come steamed, tightly packed in a little box, so they will not be crispy.

Fine bar food

This is a great bar/restaurant. The menu is limited, burgers, tacos, salads, and chicken wings, but for every non-vegan item, there is a vegan counterpart. The vegan wings were my favorite. The vegan BBQ burger was really good, too. Strangely, the burger buns were what stood out. They were amazing. The service was good. I'm giving it 4, not 5 stars, because there wasn't anything phenomenal. It was perfectly fine bar food.

YUMMY VEGAN WINGS

Loveeee the vegan wings !!! $18 is a bitttt pricey because they are a lil tiny and you get no fries BUT you get 6 wings and honestly it’s worth it in my opinion. Best vegan wings I’ve ever had.

Pros: Good taste, Good texture, Vegan options

Cons: Portions, Lack of sides, Price

Best greasy beyond burger

When staying at a hotel near the airport, this is the best place for a late night meal. Their beyond burger is amazingly greasy with vegan American cheese with pickles.

Howling at the Moon

I must say that this burger was one of the best I've had in Chicago. Along with the wings, which were actually the absolute best I've had in Chicago in terms of taste, texture and presentation. And I've tried a lot of vegan burgers and wings. I can say they definitely lit up my face.

And with each bite, I howled at the moon.

The one flaw, NO VEGAN RANCH. C'mon man, get on it. But I'm a forgiving person.

Incredible amounts of vegan options, and all wonderful as far as I can tell. The Portland is a go to for me!

Late Night Vegan

Kitchen is open until 1am, which was rare around the Logan Square neighborhood when I visited this past weekend. They had a solid vegetarian menu with plenty of vegan options. The cuisine was borderline gastropub, but at a relatively low price. I did not have a drink but they appeared to have a solid local beer selection.

Pros: Separate vegetarian menu with vegan options

Cons: Limited seating during the winter.

Great Options

Lots of clearly marked vegan options made with Beyond Meat products. The street tacos are a personal favorite, but I also love that they sourced a vegan brioche bun for their burgers. I know for certain they care about their vegan customers, too, because I've been there when they're out of vegan buns and they offer alternatives instead of just trying to sneak in a non-vegan bun.

Only Place Serving Beyond Sausage in Chicago

Moonlighter is one of my go-to spots for vegan comfort food in the city. They're super vegan friendly (there's a separate menu, just ask) with lots of options - Beyond burgers, Beyond sausage, tacos, nachos, salads and chili fries. Great prices too, all items are under $16. I highly recommend this sports bar if you want good vegan eats and drinks while catching a game.

Pros: Full vegan menu, Staff is knowledgable about what's vegan

Cons: Not all menu items can be made vegan

So yummy!

Went for lunch and it was awesome! They have a vegetarian/vegan menu! You can easily sub out things on the vegetarian food to make vegan. Highly recommend!

Pros: Beyond Sausage, Beyond Meat Burger, Outdoor patio

Cons: Burger does not come with fries
