A bit disappointing - Edit
We walked past this place and saw they had vegan options.
Read moreThe options were labelled as vegetarian but the staff explained what was suitable for vegans.
To start we got the vegetarian salad which was great. It came with a vegan meat which had a good texture and worked well with the salad!
Then for mains my partner got the vegetable terrine which was basically just mush formed into a shape. It tasted good but the texture wasn’t great.
Then I got the mushroom and veggie cubes stew - great name lmao. The stew sauce was delicious and the meat pieces were too, however the mushrooms were so tough I couldn’t bite through them. It also came with polenta which was good.
Pros: The polenta , The salad
Cons: Expensive , Uncooked mushrooms, Veggie terrine was mush

Good few vegan options - Edit
Nice restaurant and friendly staff, they have a separate veggie/vegan menu - the options are limited but it's generally difficult in Zadar to find vegan options so I was grateful!

Refreshing vegan options - Edit
Even though it's not stated anywhere, they do give you a vegetarian/vegan menu when you go sit at a table. There are four options, but all are really refreshing considering Croatia is mostly a meat and fish country. I had the mushroom stew with polenta which was really great! Staff was very friendly too.

They have a whole vegetarian menu and told me that actually everything on that is vegan as well. The food is not super special but it was really good and great service.

Not worth it - Edit
Very limited options, you can ask for pizza without cheese, there’s one vegetarian pasta, and a few options that are basically salad and grilled vegetables which are too expensive (more than 15 euros for a vegetable salad?).
Read moreI asked for the pasta that was basically spaghetti with courgette, peppers and aubergine, all undercooked, no flavor at all.
Save your money and go somewhere else.
Pros: Vegan options in a non-vegan restaurant, Pretty location
Cons: Bland , Expensive , Limited options

An excellent variety of food that doesn’t Include pizza, pasta or a burger - Edit
Really knowledgeable and friendly staff who know the difference between Vegan and Vegetarian. They aren’t just offering burgers or pasta and then calling themselves vegan friendly. We will come back that’s for sure.

Nice place, fresh food - Edit
Super lovely place to sit and enjoy the city flair.
Read more5 vegan options (in comparison: many non-vegan..).
We waited almost 45min for our dishes, but it was definetly out of fresh vegetables and well prepared.
As an advice: the baked potatoes are a perfect addition to any main meal!
The waiters are totaly friendly, well informed and english-speaking.

Sooo good - Edit
Ordered the polenta and mushroom dish. It was so so good. Really good portion size and the mushroom in the sauce tasted amazing. We also had freshly baked bread and oil which was a perfect addition to the meal. The setting was also very nice with classically themed pop songs.

One of the better places with vegan options in town - Edit
This restaurant is located near the people’s square and have their own separate vegan/vegetarian menu.
Read moreStaff is friendly and knowledgable about veganism. I’ve chosen the mushroom and veggie cubes with polenta (which contains butter) so they’ve swapped the polenta for rice. All tasted delicious!
So do ask the staff if you can make something vegan before ordering.
There are tables outside so you can relax and enjoy the people walking by.
It’s a bit on the pricey side but worth it in my opinion because there aren’t that many restaurants with vegan options in this town.

Best place in a bad town for vegans - Edit
This place is a bit posh and not cheap but the staff are good, there is a separate vegan menu and the food was very fine especially the mushroom polenta dish even if it was a bit stingy on the polenta. The other dishes were interesting and tasty if not large.
Read moreBut the service is slow or at least was when we were there. So I'd recommend getting the local bread dish with oil and salt as a starter. There are no starters on the vegan menu. But we waited well over 40 minutes for the food to arrive so the bread kept us alive till it did.
Lots of outdoor seating.
