soooo expensive - Edit
I loved that they had so many vegan options, and ended up settling on the Korean Noodle Bowl, which ended up being $18.80 with tax, so it was over $20 with tip. And that was fine until I saw and tasted it. The bowl was tiny and less than half full. It basically just had noodles, carrots, and bean sprouts doused in sesame oil. Flavor was ok but it was really oily and definitely not enough food to justify the price. I still want to come back and try the pizza and burger, so I’ll update my review then, but so far I am not a fan

Pretty good - Edit
Not a bad spot but I wish there were a few more vegan choices. I don’t eat mushrooms, so that sort of left me with one entree choice on the menu. It was very nice, but I won’t go back again for the same thing. Might try again I a few months when the menu rotates.

Love for vegan cheeseburger - Edit
An easy go to place when you need to satisfy the vegan and non vegan group. I either order their vegan cheeseburger or their mushroom pizza. Never disappointed.

Love the seasonal vegan items - Edit
When we travel, we always seem to end up near a True Food! My favorite season to eat here is fall/winter because they have the butternut squash almond ricotta vegan pizza, squash soup, etc etc. Non seasonal vegan items are good too. My husband liked the vegan burger (with house made patty). We sometimes also order the hummus without feta and the vegan gluten free choc chip cookies are delicious!!!

A couple good dishes - Edit
I honestly only go for their hummus and chop salad. Everything else is too oily. My husband (not vegan) loves their margarita pizza though

Good but not the same as previous experience - Edit
We had our first True Food experience in Kansas and everything was great! When we saw there was a True Food Kitchen near us in San Diego we decided to try it again. The woman that brought us to our table was super friendly and had good vibes.
Read moreThe food was tasty but we were kind of disappointed because we had somewhat of an expectation.
We ordered the butternut squash pizza & ancient grains bowl.
The butternut squash pizza had much less toppings & the crust was a little too browned than the same pizza we had at the Kansas True Food Kitchen and the “cheese” was also not slightly melty like the past experience we had. So it was kinda disappointing. However, if we had never been to a True Food Kitchen before - we probably would’ve thought this meal was great because it still tasted really good.

Quality food with good vegan options - Edit
Offers legit vegan/vegetarian options. The food is also high quality. The tempeh BLT with a side kale salad and sweet potatoe hash is amazing! However, this place is pricey

True Food Kitchen at UTC - Edit
I've been to a few TFKs and this is one of the newer ones. It's nice, but the people making the food haven't perfected the standard TFK recipes like the other locations. I ordered the butternut squash pizza and the butternut squash was in giant chunks. The almond ricotta on top was way too watery and killed the entire pizza. It was fine, but not as good as other TFKs.

Vegan Options in UTC - Edit
Near the tip of The Point stands UTC's True Foods. The ceiling soars over the open kitchen and out into the open air patio. With clearly marked vegan options--and the consideration of vegan almond ricotta--it is easy for all eating ethos to share a meal. I know quite a few non-vegans who prefer the vegan items in this restaurant.
