Brilliant - Edit
Nice service, great Ramen and value-for-money lunch set. You do need to pay 140 yen if you come from outside the station to enter the station, but it worth it! One of my favorite veggie places in Tokyo

Perfect place - Edit
Can get busy here as a really popular place. Had to queue but not for very long. Situated inside the station you get to it by going up the lift on platform 15 and it's above platform 8.

Inside Ueno station - Edit
We had to buy tickets to get inside the station. It was Wednesday morning so only breakfast menu applied. It does not have as many choices as the regular one, the food itself though isn't very different - tasty fast japanese food (ramen mostly). Coffe wasn't great but the way it was served was very cute: with two little ketteles of milk and sugar syrap. It Also was very interesting to watch crowd of people go to work behind the glass wall non stop.

Delicious Vegan Ramen - Edit
Probably the best vegan Ramen in Tokyo. Give yourself an extra 20 minutes to find this place because it’s hard but worth it. Look for the “eCute Keiyo Street” inside Tokyo Station and you’ll find it at the end. The popular ramen is great but I think the Tonkotsu is even better. Splurge on the Gyozo set (and extra 250 I think) - they’re hit or miss but when they’re good they’re amazing. Atmosphere is clean and modern but casual.

Quest to find - Edit
Terribly difficult to find if you don’t know that you actually should be inside the JR station Ueno i.e. you should arrive to the station or get inside using a ticket.
Read moreLocated above platform 8 at the northern part of the station.
Cheap, tasty and vegan. Gyoza was more tasty and not not that deep fried as it was at the same branch cafe at Tokyo Station.

Unbelievable ramen - Edit
This is a little hard to find but boy when you find it, it’s simply ramen heaven.
Read moreI came around 2pm and the shop had customers but still a few seats left. The menu is in English and the staff speak little English but everything is clearly labelled.
I had the lunch set meal which was an option of 6 ramen bowls & a starter like gyozas, soy meat & rice.
The one I picked was the gold sesame tantan ramen and gyozas. It came in quick timing and was super, super delicious. The ramen looked amazing.
10 out of 10 would recommend if you’re passing through Ueno station!
Pros: Clearly labelled , Not expensive, Best ramen about
Cons: Can be little difficult to find

If you have been to Tokyo Station T's or the flagship restaurant you need to come to Ueno and try their ramen! It has all the great options as Tokyo station without the lines or rushed feeling of Tokyo station.

The food here is just great and cheap. The black sesame and gold sesame ramen, as well as the vegan karaage, are fabulous. The tonkotsu ramen was disappointing though.

Great fast cheap vegan noodles and more - Edit
In Ueno station, very good vegan ramen, cheap fast and nice service. I just don't like "fakemeat", the is a bit of it in some dishes but very few. It's a relaxed place, I ate there alone twice ✌🏻.

Japanese Ramen Deliciousness - Edit
ATTENTION: Located above platform 8 at the northern part of the station. You need to be inside the JR station to access the restaurant. It can be hard to find. Apart from that part this place is unreal. It was so good at lunch we went back for dinner. Our favourite is the ”veggie tonkotsu ramen” but the “gold sesame tantan” is great also and if you prefer rice the “mapo tofu rice dish” is also good. The gyoza are not really worth the effort but for what it’s worth it doesn’t matter because the ramen is amazing!!!! And they are super quick as they should be because ramen should be quick to put together. It is essentially stock, noodles and fresh ingredients. The noodle was “al dente” and the stock was full flavoured. This outlet is better than the Tokyo station one. But really they are both awesome! Peace, love and happiness. EAT VEGAN!!!!!! :-D

My happy place in Tokyo - Edit
Just came back from Kyoto today and had to check out again T‘s Tantan. Great food. Like the first time I had the Ramen with golden sesame and the gyoza (lunch set). Quality and flavor was as good as the first time. I also took one of the sandwiches they have for take away. Just tried it. Delicious and fresh too!!

AMAZING ramen!!! - Edit
Once I tried the ramen at T's Tan Tan, I knew I had to revisit here as much as humanly possible. They serve up KILLER ramen, extremely tasty in every aspect. I tried both the golden sesame and the tonkotsu and both were just so amazing. A much more traditional Japanese ramen, which is perfect! The karaage side is also extremely delicious, the gyoza were okay, nothing amazing, but still tasty.
Read moreThe location is much easier and more convenient than their location in Tokyo station. Ueno is on the JR Line, so if you have a Rail Pass it won't cost you at all!

We had a nice exploration of the station on our quest to find this place. It's a chain, they serve very nice food. For Japanese standards they are quite cheap, and they have convenient up size and side dish options.

Six different vegan ramen - Edit
Sight for sore eyes! Yummy vegan ramen soups and dumplings. And they also sell vegan cup noodles to take with you in case you are looking for a back up option when traveling Japan (spoiler alert, you will be happy to have a couple of these in your luggage). Near this restaurant inside the station there is a juice bar (what!?!?!) so you can satisfy any produce cravings you might have.

I ate here a lot! - Edit
I've eaten almost everything on their menue! It's all so nice. If you want to flavour your ramen or other dish then you can be given Tan Tan's Spice which is a mildly spicy season blend or some white pepper that actually goes really well with some of the dishes.
Read moreI loved all their Ramen and side dishes.
A little disappointed in the curry as I feel it lacked flavour but I like my curry spicy so my not be a fair judgement.
The staff are super nice and accommodating. Oh and they sell sandwiches which was the only bread I had while there as it seems most bread has milk in it.
Would for sure come here again!
Pros: All vegan, lots of tasty options, great price
