great vegan ramen! - Edit
really tasty vegan ramen spot inside of ueno station. sadly i am allergic to peanuts & almost all dishes are made with them. so i had to order the yuzu ramen - but my dissapointment vanished into thin air as soon as i tasted it. it was so good! service was amazing as well.

Que dire à part le fait qu’on a fait tout le tour de la gare pour ne RIEN trouver, aucune indication pour nous repérer, bref un cauchemar.

Long running yummy Ramen chain. - Edit
I have very fond memories of T's Tantan since I first visited the chain multiple times in 2015. I loved the Ramen so much! Unfortunately, some of the branches have been closed now, I especially mourn the one in Sendai. It is so much harder to find vegan food out there.
Read moreWhen I came back in 2023 the Ramen couldn't quite live up to my memories but I don't think it's the chains fault. I maybe hyped it up a little bit too much in my head 😅
The Ramen is super tasty, I usually go for one of the TanTan mens.
The gyoza are also really nice though.
I definitiv recommend coming by to visit this long standing vegan chain either here or in another branch.
The staff are also lovely and even managed to get us in when we were carrying quite a bit of luggage

Don’t miss the bento - Edit
The tantanmen is really good, though I think Mensho in Shibuya is better. However, what really impressed me was the vegan take away lunch, which is made to order and is one of the only guaranteed vegan bentos you can get at either Ueno or Tokyo station.
Read morePros: Take away lunch is super tasty
Cons: Takes time to get the lunchbox (made to order)

You can buy amazing vegan bento boxes from Masumoto 升本 in Daimaru department store (B1 floor) which is connected to Tokyo Station. Also Ekibenya Matsuri (駅弁屋祭) Ekibeyya (駅弁屋) 1F in Tokyo Station :)

Tasty and many options - Edit
Many vegan options and all tasting amazing. The hardest part was trying to find it. It’s inside the station, so you need a platform ticket or IC card to access.

Bringing joy with every plate - Edit
After a long flight and a long hot day fighting our way through a very busy Tokyo, this place really restored my faith in people and this town! The staff cannot do enough for you and the food is top notch and came almost straightaway! There are large signs saying the food is certified vegan, plus our server asked about any allergies even before she took the order. On arrival you are given a large jug of iced water, a godsend. We had the T's set and Massaman curry. The set came with a very tasty ramen including sesame paste, peanut butter, beansprouts and bok choice as well as a plate of 12 very tasty gyoza which we shared. The waiter spotted we were sharing and brought two extra bowls and spoons without being asked. We plumped for the pistachio gelato for dessert, it was also brilliant! All I can say is please support this little gem - service with lots of smiles and oishi oishi food!

The best vegan ramen - Edit
The place is a little hidden, inside a JR station at Ueno station. They offer a limited menu but everything was delicious. The waiters are super friendly and asks if you have any allergies. I would love to repeat.

Black Sesame - Edit
I have been twice, once I got Golden Sesame (pretty good) and the second time I got the black sesame. I found the black sesame to be far superior. Not sure if it was a limited time item.
Read moreFollow station signs to level 3. Then use google maps to locate on foot. There is “VEGAN” in big green letters on the sign by the door so it’s hard to miss.
Pros: Fast, Fully vegan, Tates great
Cons: The seating is not optimal for groups, Difficult to find

Very tasty noodles! - Edit
I got the T's Set 1, which was the golden sesame tantan and vegetable gyoza. It tasted very good, though with all the salt and the processed flour it might not be the healthiest choice out there. I did appreciate the other vegetables in the soup though!
Read moreThe gyoza were a bit oily but not extremely so. They tasted nice as well.

Great ramen, extremely fast service - Edit
Since it's situated in a train station, they cater mostly to commuters and timing can be important. If you're not taking the train from Ueno, you can buy a platform ticket for ¥150 to get inside the station. My food was served to me in about 3 minutes after I ordered it, and it didn't lack in quality. The gyozas are a nice side dish, but they seem to sell out quickly. They also had some really nice gelato as dessert, flavors strawberry, matcha or pistachio, which I recommend trying.
Read moreT's Tantan also makes vegan cup noodles in three different flavors. You can buy those in this store as well as at Natural Lawson.
If you have allergies, the restaurant is still able to cater if you ask about it. Almost all dishes contain peanuts as an allergen but not as a core ingredient (I think they use peanut oil). If you're like me and can't stand the taste of peanuts but aren't allergic, I recommend reading the ingredients on the menu carefully as some dishes (such as the golden sesame tantan) do contain peanut cream.

Would recommend - Edit
Easy to find in ecute shopping centre if coming from Ueno Park direction, difficult if from other side of station, you have to go through JR ticket gates, go to platform 8 and climb stairs to 3rd floor, you will come to ecute, restaurant is quite far in (near to exit onto the park).
Read moreFood was delicious - I had golden ramen, my mum had rice bowel with delicious soy meat.
They also have vegan ramen pots available. Not yet eaten these but I got several because the ramen in the restaurant is so nice and you can’t find anything like this for an easy meal in a normal convenience store.
Pros: Delicious food, Friendly service, Vegan ramen pots available to buy

Favorite T's location - Edit
Location: Inside Ueno Station. You'll need to card in or pay to enter the station (the fee is nominal, I think 200 yen). Because this station is on the smaller side, it's much easier to find T's.
Read moreThis is also the nicest of all the T's I've gone to (Tokyo being 2nd, Ikebukuru 3rd). Still feels like a ramen spot in a train station, but has the most restaurant feel out of the three.
Food-wise, the cold lemon ramen (a seasonal item, unfortunately) completely blew me away. Tangy, with avocado, came with lemon slices as well and a side of tomato sauce with olives (interesting choice). The sesame ramen was good as always.

The food is worth the eternity of walking around Ueno station looking for T’s Tantan. That peanut butter / sesame Ramen is delicious. Would recommend a side of the “playdough” like cheese balls for a fulfilling meal.
