Cheap, so-so sushi - Edit
Decent options plus good happy hour deals, but somewhat bland and seems worse now than it was several years ago

Phenomenal Vegan Sushi - Edit
I had the edamame, the avocado roll, the vegetable tempura roll, and the green dragon roll, and everything was top notch. I would love to go to UCHU again before our Portland trip is over!

Served us fish - Edit
They have great vegan options if you get served the vegan option. My date and I ended up with the non vegan jalapeño poppers. The server felt bad, but didn’t even offer to take the item off the check. I know it happens, but her advice was to “make double sure next time.” I don’t know what that meant.

Mixed Feelings - Edit
My family and I decided to have takeout dinner, and I had mixed feelings about the whole ordeal. I ordered the vegan jalapeno poppers and three rolls. The jalapeño poppers were super delicious, and the rolls all tasted good. However, to be a bit nit-picky, the sushi rice was a bit gummy. It did not ruin the rolls; they still were delicious, but it was noticeable. Another thing is that my family ordered non-veg rolls, and they mixed them all in one box. We could have specified to separate them, but it was a little annoying, especially since all of my rolls directly touched fish rolls.

Hit or miss but still adequate - Edit
this was the first place I went to when I moved here years ago. it was very good. the food has gotten inconsistent over the years, but when it’s good, it’s reeeeal good. prices are not great for the portions. the thing I dislike the most about this restaurant is when they’re busy, they seem to disconnect their phone and shut off delivery/takeout apps. the least they could do is have a pre-recorded message play when calling in when they’re too busy instead of a dial tone. I go less and less nowadays but this used to be my go-to spot to take friends or celebrate birthdays. now I only do takeout or delivery every blue moon. the waitstaff has always been monotone at best but they’re in a really busy spot - I’d probably be dismissive and short with peoples too if I had to deal with the volume of guests they serve. it’s worth a stop but get it to-go, and don’t even think about trying to get a table or takeout past 6pm on the weekends.

Cons: expensive, sometimes it’s not good - inconsistent, difficult to place an order when they’re busy

Huge Vegan Menu - Edit
Yes it’s a normal sushi place but they have a ton of clearly labeled vegan options for sushi, sides, tempura, noodles, etc. They also have happy hour deals on food for most of the week. Portions are big and good for sharing if you get multiple dishes.

Great Vegan Menu Section - Edit
Love the clearly labeled “vegan” options on menus, and this menu even had a whole vegetarian friendly section! We got 4 different rolls straight from the menu and we enjoyed each of them. If wanting to be a full meal, would suggest more food. But this was prefect for us. We were driving through town on Halloween Sunday (👻) and walked right up to a patio table where we were served drinks and our rolls. They even brought us a water dish for the pup. Dog friendly!

Pretty good - Edit
I happened to walk in during happy hour and had the vegan jalapeño poppers, which practically melted in my mouth they were so good. I also had the nasuyaki roll, which was good. Service wasn't unfriendly, just not outright super friendly.

Amazing rolls and Variety - Edit
This place is awesome. My absolute favorite roll is the Dragon Roll (as is) but I stepped it up a notch and added vegan cream cheese ($1) and had it deep fried ($1). So delicious! You may be able to do this cheaper with the asparagus roll? Asparagus roll topped with Avacado ($1?) and deep fried ($1). I didn't think of that until after. I'll update post next time I go and see if it's the same.

❤️Agedashi Tofu~super good! That Avacado on top was only $1 extra! And I absolutely loved the sauce and how it soaked into the tofu. Fun to eat with a spoon too. The waitress suggested it and it's a happy hour item 🙌

Lots of vegan options! - Edit
They have vegan tempura jalapeño poppers that are absolutely addictive. The iggy popper roll with vegan cream cheese is my favorite, but all of their rolls are great. I’ve had a couple good drinks there but overall I’m not crazy about their cocktail offerings. Service is sometimes amazing, and sometimes it’s meh.

Really Good! - Edit
I tried this place for the first time and I was really impressed. Their vegan sushi is really good and actually affordable. Uchu gets more creative then the usual avocado roll vegan option at a sushi place. I ordered the green dragon roll and the nasuyaki roll. They bother were good but the green dragon was my favorite, it had a great texture from the fried asparagus. I definitely will go back again.
