From wow to not - Edit
Editing my previously 4 stars review. I used to rave for Uncle Yu's from 2020-2022, but the trend of subpar, pretentious service coupled with a worsening taste in the vegan option has made me turn from a regular to a not. There is an exclusive vegan menu with a great variety of options but I feel like they don't know how to cook the vegetables thoroughly and can't season right... Uncle Yu's is a good option is you desire something more upscale, I guess. Expect to spend $80+ dining for two for meh food. I personally prefer Lemongrass Thai and (my favorite) Saigon Cafe which is a very short walk away.

Clearly labeled, so much flavor! - Edit
Amazing Asian options here, all clearly labeled. We enjoyed vegan fried rice, spicy tofu and dry green beans, all fantastic. Our waiter was also super helpful and knowledgeable and was able to make a vegan sweet and sour soup.

Make Sure to Ask for the Vegan Menu - Edit
I've been going to Uncle Yu's since before I was vegan. I was surprised to find out that they actually have a separate vegan menu!! Just make sure to ask, because they do not give it to you automatically. Lots of options to choose from and they all sounded delicious! I really liked the home style tofu dish and mushu veggies. If you're looking for an upscale restaurant to enjoy with some omnivores in downtown Livermore, look no further!

has a vegetarian menu - Edit
This is a higher end Chinese restaurant with great service, great food, & good vegan & vegetarian options. We've had szechuan vegetables, kung po broccoli, home style tofu, a side of their spicy garlic pepper sauce, sorbet, orange no-jito, vegetarian pot stickers, lotus tofu cups, yu shang eggplant & vegetarian Singapore noodles. We loved the food, service & experience.
