Good value vegan menu at Mercado San Pedro - Edit
It was nice to spot the "Vegan Point" sign inside the busy Mercado San Pedro. Their daily menu has a few different choices. I selected the causa limeña for my starter, and a quinotto with a vegetable skewer and potato chips for the main dish. The meal also came with tea and a banana oat cookie. Everything tasted good, and the price was very reasonable. The portions are quite large, so I ended up taking some leftovers back to the hotel for dinner.

Great value - Edit
15 sol menu del día, they open pretty early too (I was there before 11). Food is very tasty and feels really fresh; harsh to not give 5 stars tbh but Govinda in San Blas remains superior

Unexpected vegan - Edit
A bit hard to find as there are so many food stalls, but so glad I did. The woman working there was super nice and recommended med 2 dishes (there were 4 options) and gave me a vegan cookie when I left. It was super tasty and fresh.

Cheap & tasty lunch at the markets - Edit
San Pedro is a big and bustling market, so eating here was a little crowded and chaotic as you’d expect! The table was also small so it was awkward to fit 2 plates at once, and we were sharing the table with other customers.
Read moreThe food was all very flavourful and I enjoyed trying some vegan-ised Peruvian dishes that I hadn’t had a chance to try yet - e.g. causa.
The timing of the dishes was off, with my partner and mine’s starters and main dishes each coming out 5-10 minutes apart so basically at no point we were eating at the same time haha. But they were getting slammed at this stall - super busy - so can’t blame them.
Can’t remember how much it cost - I think 12 or 15 soles each for the set menu? Really good value.
The food was great though, and the lady was nice! I would eat here again.
Pros: very tasty market lunch, cheap & local experience
Cons: crowded busy spot

Authentic Peruvian food in a traditional market - Edit
Loved the Papas Doradas and the Arroz Chaufa, but everything is delicious. Located in the restaurant section of the market, towards the northeast corner
