The best Chinese food - Edit
It’s such a treat when we visit family and get to enjoy Wawin! The food is just unreal and tasty. We usually go for the chicken fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, salt and pepper chips, and curry sauce *chefs kiss*. We also had the satay this time - the sauce is spot on. An easy 5 ⭐️ rating.

THE greatest Chinese food I’ve ever eaten - Edit
You know when you went vegan, and you forgot what a proper Chow Mein tasted like? Well… wonder no longer. The noodles here taste like I want every noodle dish I have to taste like haha. Everything I’ve had is amazing. I’m pleased they don’t have one in the North East of England because I’d fear for my bank balance.

Incredible - Edit
My favourite takeaway in Leeds hands down. I have my personal favourites on the menu but I've tried most of their options now and honestly haven't had a single miss.
Read moreOn the spectrum of British-Chinese to Authentic Chinese food, it's definitely more geared towards the B-C end, but there's a section of the menu dedicated to more traditional dishes like black fungus, chinese leaves, braised aubergine etc.
Always deliver super fast too!

Really gotta love those noodles - Edit
First time trying Wawin take out tonight, and amazed by the extent of the menu, pretty much everything you can think of vegan stylee.
Read moreI went for the tofu udon but I tried some of the aubergine stir fry and salt and pepper chicken, they were all perfectly cooked and tasty. We had a portion of salt and pepper tofu too, which was not so great, over cooked and lacked flavour.

Astounding - Edit
Have had this 3 times this week already, and it's incredible. There is so much choice and everything on the menu is vegi or vegan. The meat style options also seem to be mostly GF, except for the v-prawns which is quite unique. The food is tasty and of such high quality. It's a tad on the pricey side to get it as a takeaway, but is normal restaurant price aka £12 for a curry and side. Don't even mind paying a bit more to be able to get a chinese which isn't just tofu and veg!

Chinese Delights - Edit
Thoroughly enjoyed our takeaway from Wawin. We ordered via uber eats and had the vegan chicken satay and homemade style tofu with rice and vegan noodles. My word... the satay was absolutely delicious with the texture of the chicken simply superb and the depth of spice and flavour spot on. The tofu dish was also flavoursome, with perfectly cooked tofu and it was great to have black fungus alongside some noodles again. Slight issue was just a tad too much oil. As we ordered via uber eats we also got £10 off, as an introductory offer so ordered the wawin deep fried combo as well. The spring rolls, wontons and especially the chicken drumsticks were tremendous with the sweet chilli sauce providing a perfect dipping agent. Can't wait to try more dishes from the menu when we return to Leeds.

Amazing Takeaway - Edit
Ordered Wawin for delivery. It was impossible to decide what to eat as the menu is so expansive. Almost everything is vegan, except for a small number of dishes (which are labelled with the non-vegan ingredient). I wish I lived in Leeds as I would order this food every week! The chicken drumsticks are fantastic, the satay was super flavourful and the hoisin duck pancakes are on point. Definitely recommend! They also have a selection of authentic dishes which I’ve never come across in a UK Chinese restaurant.

Paying for lack of options. - Edit
Although it's quite nice, the price seems steep for the quality. The sides are costly too(£3.50 for a portion of noodles). There's not much to compare it to in fairness, we need more vegan Chinese options.

Ordered as takeaway a couple of times now.
Read moreReally enjoyed the huge range of choice. The vegan prawns were a particular delight as they are made from bean curd sheet rolled up and shaped to resemble a prawn!
Found it a bit sketchy trying to avoid seitan as the menu on just eat isn’t clearly labelled as to whether vegan “chicken”, vegan “lamb”, etc is made from seitan or soya. So generally stick with tofu options unless I was willing to take the risk and palm seitan off onto my husband, who loves it 😝
That was the only real downside. everything else was great, tasty, turned up quickly and was good value for money.
Pros: Lots of variety, Seitan- if it’s your thing , Good value
Cons: Seitan- if like me it’s not your thing

Could be much better - Edit
I do certainly appreciate the huge variety of vegetarian options and the fact that this is the only chinese food place in Leeds with many vegan options too. I am however surprised how much people seem to love this place. I tried a few of the dishes and would not repeat. I had the feeling that they use cheap precooked sauces and my stomach certainly did not enjoy the food. Neither did my partner. I also think that it is heavily overpriced for what it is. The fake meat is tasteless and just feels full of flavour enhancers.
