Idk if it’s even vegan at all - Edit
In Taiwan, people mistake vegetarian and vegan a lot. Vegan = pure vegetarian here. Probably only one of the 6 “vegan” options is actually vegan. The rest are labeled as lacto and ovo-vegetarian, which we found out after I received a bao with an omelette inside. The staff doesn’t know the difference either, nonetheless, it’s mostly the language barrier. If you don’t speak Chinese, I would avoid this place if you don’t want to eat something non-vegan accidentally.

Confusing - Edit
I would love to be able to recommend it, however the staff doesn’t know the difference between vegan and vegetarian. Firstly they assured us that everything is vegan and then that actually nothing is, because the baos are made with milk (fortunately after we had already eaten 😋), which also the translation of the labels suggested. I don’t know what is true at this point, if you wanna be sure, just avoid this place.

Awesome! - Edit
I accidentally stumbled on this cute little food stand while seeing the words vegetarian and vegan. I checked HappyCow and saw it was already an often reviewed place. There was a guy that spoke English. He didn't seem to fully grasp that veganism also excluded cheese (some of the options contain cheese but it can be emitted). Based on the previous review I tried the Taiwan version and loved it. Very tasty!

Big bao make an affordable meal! - Edit
We went here twice as it was very affordable (60 twd, or $1.85) and due to the size of the bao (which includes a vegan chikin patty with pickles etc), it was as filling as eating a burger. I would have liked more sauce as it is a little dry at times, but I can't flaw the value and flavor!

Large, fluffy buns! - Edit
There are four menu items that can be made vegan. Ovo and lacto options are labelled. It’s a bit pricier than omni stands that also have vegetarian gua bao, but well worth it for the abundant filling and clear labelling. I got the signature flavour one, which has a veggie chicken patty, lots of lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and burger sauce with a bit of spiciness to it.

Absolutely delicious! Highly recommend going - Edit
Small vegetarian Gua Bao stall with vegan options on the menu. The owner is very nice so just let him know if you don't want dairy or eggs. There are a couple of seats to sit down to eat.
