Very friendly staff and great food - Edit
This restaurant was such a good place to visit. We were the only ones there that day but the owner was extremely friendly and good at english. He asked where we came from and told us about his past jobs. He asked if we had any preferences when it came to the food and helped us pick it out. It was a bit more pricy but really worth it.

DON’T MISS THIS PLACE - Edit
Best beer, super fresh veggies, probably best miso you’ll ever eat in your life, super nice pickles. Did you ever eat fresh edamame? How about trying TWO varieties to compare. There’s no going back to frozen edamame ever again. Did I mention the beer is excellent? Also lovely couple running the place and good English etc. Very unassuming from outside but don’t sleep on it!!!!

5 stars (happy cow won’t let me) - Edit
Well labeled and plentiful vegan options. Food was delicious and generous. The couple who runs this place sources all of their veggies, tofu, miso, and breads from local farmers, bakers, brewers, and tofu makers. The beer is top notch as well with unique flavors such as rice and roasted malts. If you are vegan in Nagano you owe it to this couple and to yourself to pop in and try their Grilled Onigiri at the very least. Beautiful couple and a beautiful experience.

Plenty of vegan snack options - Edit
Lovely owners and excellent selection of vegan food. They are more bar snacks rather than a main meal, so probably not the place if you’re starving. I had the tofu burger which was delicious. I love that they try and course their produce from the local area.

Solid vegan option in Nagano - Edit
We went to Yamaoma for dinner. They have multiple vegan options for appetizers/sides and mains, all clearly labeled. We had the nozawana (pickled local greens) - really enjoyed - , the cabbage bowl (just a bowl of cabbage leaves) with spicy miso dip - could've eaten the dip by itself -, and the chilled tofu - good if you're a fan of plain silken tofu, and the tofu patty burger. The patty was soft but it tasted good. Overall a solid option for vegans traveling to Nagano.

Nice beers and impressive veggies - Edit
We went for a beer with some snacks.
Read moreWe were surprised that the vegan salad were raw, or almost raw, with miso dip.
And it was extremely delicious! Some of the veggies, from local farms, do even need the miso dip! But the miso, from a local shop, is also worth trying.
I was also surprised when the staff asked us if it is OK to have our fried vegan spring rolls fried in the same oil used for other food. It was appreciated that they care.
Pros: Their care, Products from local production, Super nice staff

Amazing beers and foods! - Edit
This place had a lot of vegan options and especially pickles was amazing! They use local ingredients and we can see which shops they got those ingredients. Also, the place was totally barrier free so people on wheelchairs can go into this place.

Guter Burger - Edit
Der Tofu Burger war echt lecker, bei Hunger aber unbedingt eine Beilage dazu bestellen.

Das Bier fanden wir nicht so gut und es war generell etwas zu teuer.

Loved it! - Edit
I stumbled upon (almost literally because I tripped outside the door) this place while desperately searching for a place to eat on New Years Day. I was SHOOK that the menu had such clearly marked vegan options. Kazuo Koyama, the owner, lived in the US for over a decade and speaks perfect English. He is a delight and so welcoming. I ate hiyayakko (traditional Japanese chilled tofu) and irodori (organic veggies from Miyazaki farm). It was delicious. The tofu had grated ginger on it and I will eat anything with ginger. As with most Japanese cuisine, the presentation is superb. I also had a coffee IPA because, coffee. It was great! Go here!
