Fresh wholesome food

A small but good selection of Vegan options
The salad comes in 6 small glass jars and is really good and freshly made
The two main vegan meals, being a tangene and a cous cous both are fresh and tasty

Pros: They have 5 or 6 Vegan options across the menu

Cons: Good value

Great location, great food, excellent tea!

Our trip to Zeitoun Cafe started as wanting to sort somewhere with a mint tea, watching the world go by as we overlooked the square and we decided we’d try the food. This was a very good decision as the food was really good! It’s a bit of a cliche to eat tagine everywhere in Morocco but if you spend a bit of time there you get hooked on it so tagine was the order of the day here. It was a great mix of potato, tomato, courgette, carrots and peas in a delicious sauce. As good as the food was though, the mint tea was definitely the star attraction for us. I had an iced mint tea whilst my partner went for the traditional hot mint tea. It really is one of life’s pleasures to just sit back with a small cup of this stuff and take some time to enjoy the moment watching people walking in the square.

Make sure you book a table or head there quite early or very late to get a table on the balcony, otherwise you’ll be indoors.

Pros: Decent vegan choices, Reasonable prices, Top views of Jemma el-Fna

Recommended! I had to return

This place has clearly identifies vegan options to eat, although they are not a whole menu of vegan options, you can manage to return and order something different. Vegan food was so good that even my non-vegan friend ordered a vegan meal the second time we went to this restaurant. Totally recommended.

Pros: Clear vegan options, Good location, Closer to authentic food

Good veg options

Tried the mix salad plates.. had 6 vegan mini salads which were really good. Also had the tajine veggie. Was decently priced and was the best option in the big square.

Delicious food

We were seated on the open terrace upstairs which gave us a bird's eye view of the square. The waiter seemed not to understand when I asked him if they had vegan food as he said no! Yet around half a dozen options were clearly marked as vegan on the menu, and several others which were vegetarian, for my 14 year old and husband. Service was prompt, the food was hot, fresh and delicious and portions were generous. The staff were friendly and attentive but not overbearing, and not breathing down our necks to vacate, although most tables were taken. Prices good - about £40 for a two course meal for 4, including 2 pots of delicious mint tea. Would have no hesitation in going back.

Pros: Lots of vegan choices

Pretty good

Good location with a nice view, lentil salad was all that I had but it was good! More expensive than other restos due to the location. Clearly labelled menu. Really nice staff.

Pros: Lovely staff

Nice Dinner with Great View

Great to find a central restaurant with several clearly labelled vegan options. I had a fruit smoothie and the quinoa salad, both very nice! It's just off the main square so you can watch the hustle of Jemaa el Fna from the terrace. Recommend arriving just before sunset and sitting upstairs!

Pros: Labelled vegan options, Prices reasonable , Great views

Cons: Slowish service

A solid 3.5 stars

Lovely staff. Well located off the souk.
Good prices - 2 cokes, a lentil salad, a veg tagine and a veg couscous for 225DHM. Good quality food. All vegan options clearly labelled.
Complimentary bread & olives

Nothing too exciting but a great staple and a wonderful view from the 1st floor terrace restaurant area.

Pros: Clearly labelled vegan options, Very reasonable prices, Central location

Cons: Not a huge choice for vegans

Vegetarian/Vegan Breakfast

We went here for breakfast. From memory you have a choice of five breakfasts, some containing eggs and honey. We had Moroccan square pancakes, fluffy pancakes and orange juice and mint tea.
The waiter messed up our order TWICE because he didn't write it down.
Toilets were clean though and the food was cheap. We paid 166 dinar for five breakfasts. CASH ONLY.
Main menu has lentil, quinoa salad as well as tagines.

Pros: Cheap, Food was good, Toilets clean

Cons: It's in the main square - which I despise, Messed up our order twice
