Portuguese vegan food in Lisbon - Edit
Eating here was a really cool experience because I could try many veganized versions of Portuguese dishes. Was a unique dinning experience with food I had never tried before

Nice food! - Edit
I went there for lunch. The soup of the day was really delicious but I was a little bit disapointed by the main dish I choosed, it had too many different flavors.

Options to die for - Edit
It’s all vegan and with some of the dishes, it’s hard to believe that’s true. Very small space, but it does fit quite a few guests. I was there for lunch by myself and due to the size it felt like I was being watched all the time, which was a bit uncomfortable in some moments. But let me tell you, they offer dishes that you didn’t think you’d ever have again when going vegan. I tried the ‚sardines‘ on the bread, the ‘inlander‘ which was pretty fishy too, as well as the peanut butter/chocolate pie which reminded me of Reeses. Only downside would be the prices, which are in the upper range (for Lisbon at least).

Cons: Reservation (or good luck) necessary to… , …get a table right away.

Stylish space
Read moreSmooth music
Inspiring wall art
Fabulous cocktails
Brilliant wine recommendations
Charming service
Impossibly inventive menu full of recreations of classic Portuguese dishes in true vegan style
Ao 26 - VFP raises the bar on what is possible for vegan food to be.
Book ahead as its popular.
Has very safe covid protocols.
Is it expensive? I don't know. Im not here on a budget and how to you put a price on excellence or a unique experience? That's for you to decide.
All I can say is long after I've forgotten the cost I will remember the amazing food, the love and care put in to produce it!
Pros: 100% vegan
Cons: Book ahead

The Best Vegan Restaurant in Lisbon - Edit
Finally I found a place in my beloved Lisbon that caters to the Mediterranean diet and my picky and sensitive stomach. By far, the best restaurant I've ever been to. This is an all time favourite and whenever I'm back in the city, it'll be my go to place.
Read morePros: The Menu is varied and very sophisticated.
Cons: The space is small, which isn't actually a cons 😉

O bife de seitan é só delicioso e extremamente bem temperado. O bolo com vários chocolates é um pouco enjoativo mas é bom.

One of the best vegan restaurants I have ever been. Hard to believe that it was all vegan. We tried traditional Portuguese cuisine. Great service, delicious food, and sooo a bad mood that we was only one day in Lisbon 😭

Highly recommend for a 'fish-style' meal - Edit
We went there in 2020. The 'sardines' were extremely good! We had several other dishes like the "choco frito" that also tasted amazing.

So good - Edit
We went there on Sunday night and got really lucky to get a table last-minute, so be sure to book a table in advance!
Read moreThe food was so delicious we forgot to take a picture before getting started 😅 the seitan steak was great, the francesinha was really good as well, but a bit heavy. The portions are definitely big enough, but getting your leftovers as takeaway is possible. We got our desserts to go as well, as we were too full from our starter and main, but didn't want to miss out on the peanut butter and chocolate pie.
The staff was super friendly as well! I'd definitely recommend going here!

Food is so goddamn good, the sardines omg! The only thing for me is that sometimes it really feels like you’re eating real meat and I’m not a fan of vegetarian food that really tastes like meat.

Avoid if you haven’t been vaccinated in the EU - Edit
The place seems very nice but we got rejected at the door because we had our COVID-19 vaccines in the UK, even though they were Pfizer and happened more than two weeks ago. Lots of places only check that to let you in, I would recommend the owners to do the same and avoid loosing customers.

Comida sensacional - Edit

Below average - Edit
We chose this place due to its high rating and amount of good reviews but we left disappointed. The seitan steak for 12 euros was just a big greasy steak with underseasoned veggies and potatoes. The Portuguese traditional starters board was a bit tastier but still average. The bill was 43 euros so we felt like we could have cooked something yummy at home and still have 30 plus euros to spend on drinks. The cockroach on the wall did not improve the impression. Overall below average and underwhelming.

Delicioso! - Edit

We had a lovely lunch at Ao 26. The beet risotto was delicious and elevated to excellent when the cream (seen in the center) was mixed into the rest of the dish. The seitan steak was fine, but felt boring to me. (The seitan steak was fluffy and not a hard/dense puck, so that's a positive. If you're craving seitan, then this is the dish for you.) The appetizers were delicious and all the food was presented beautifully. Definitely a place to check out during your visit to Portugal.
