American Vegan Center - Edit
The first center ever established for vegans and vegetarians. It offers frozen and fresh vegan food. It has local author books. They have products from local chefs like the cheezy vegan, priceless, and sea moss. They have vegan snacks and merchandise. They have cooking demos, expert lectures, and history tours.

Pricey Postcard - Edit
I wanted to buy a postcard. The employee seemed to have difficulty processing the transaction. I handed her a dollar and waited for my change. She said, "It's a dollar with tax." I said it was 40¢ and pointed at the sign. She said sorry, but still didn't offer my change. I was confused, but didn't want to argue over 60¢.

Where it all began. - Edit
This center is like a little Vegan visitor center located right next to many tourist spots in Philly. Veganism originated here, and this place serves as a remembrance to it. They offer walking tours, plenty of merch options, vegan books, photo-ops, and food. It's great for anyone in philly looking to try a vegan lifestyle as it opens many resources for them. We got a beanie, shirt, and a banana bread dessert which was very good. It's a nice quick stop for lunch for a busy day at independence hall and the NCC.

Neat location - Edit
During my Philly trip I relied on the "Happy Cow" app in order to find vegan food around me. I visited this location assuming it was some sort of Vegan deli. Instead it was more of a Visitor's Center for vegans in Philly. I'm talking tours, info on nearby restaurants, even souvenirs. I wish I didn't have such a busy itinerary so I could have truly seen what this place offered.
Read moreAnyways I came here for the food. They had both cold and frozen food options. The Frozen ones looked really tasty, but I didn't have the time for that. Instead I went with the ready to eat cold food. It was good in a "Gas station" sort of way. Definitely hit the spot, definitely vegan, and the price was very reasonable.
Should I ever return to Philly, I'll definitely make sure to include this place in my intinerary and give it the time it deserves.
Pros: Souvenirs, info on nearby vegan locations, vegan walking tours
Cons: No hot food options

This should be in every city - Edit
They had a lot of info available in addition to food, info and books. The food came from different independent vegan places, like cheezy vegan by chef Reeky.

Hidden gem - Edit
I stumbled upon this little gem of a spot on a walk through Old City. It screamed "VEGAN!" and I was drawn to it like a moth to a flame.
Read moreIt's a little shop selling food, books, shirts, and gifts. They hold "Vegan Philly" tours. They're a wealth of local vegan knowledge. The staff are super nice, too!
It's a quaint little shop and I'm sorry I didn't have more time to peruse their wares. They're right off the MFL ("El") at 2nd St and along several bus routes (5, 17, 33, 42, 48, 57). Definitely check it out!
