Not safe for vegetarians

I asked if we could get udon with vegetable tempura to have a vegetarian dish. Instead we got udon with shrimp tempura and vegetable tempura as side dish. In general the menu is not clear about if dishes are vegi or not.

Cons: Unsafe for vegetarians

Real Kyoto food

The food was just tofu and tempura, but the tofu was delicious and the atmosphere cosy. If you’re in the area and want Japanese food then it’s a good little place.

Pros: Great tofu, Crispy tempura, Cosy atmosphere

Cons: Not so many options , Seemed a bit puzzled about vegetarianism, Dashi?

Few options

Really few options. Tofu set has dashi. Tempura set came with a soup with dashi. Any hot tofu is with dashi. Tofu cold is veg, vegetable tempura too.

Lovely little place

Lots of options. Menu in English. Had udon, soba, tofu set, tempura.

cosy place

A small.place but wide menu that had a few options for veggies, the vegetable tempura set I had was very nice but there was also some noodle and tofu options . Service was friendly and helpful.

Great value

Small resto with only four zashiki style dining areas. The veg tempura bento set was delicious and the perfect amount. Tasty and good value for the low price, just sad we hadn't discovered earlier in our trip, we would have returned to try some of the other dishes.
