Vegan options are not accurate

Be aware that for the vegan options, they just remove the non vegan things and leave you with what is leftover. For example, their cauliflower okonamiyaki is just a bowl of roasted cauliflower, but they still charge you the full $23, it’s such a scam.

Best terrace in Boston

I’m a regular at Banyan and love the vegan options. Favorites are the cauliflower dish, veggie fried rice, and the chocolate mousse and nut/seed brittle.

Tasty but needs improvement

The Banyan offers a couple of vegan dishes and even more dishes that than can be made vegan. However, the restaurant fails to provide a protein source for vegans, rather surprisingly considering Tofu is an Asian staple. For example the Tuna Poke bowl, $21, can be made vegan by just omitting the tuna. Vegetables and rice for that price is a bit outrageous.

The best entree I had was the Cauliflower Okonomiyaki which consisted of a large bowl of grilled cauliflower with a vegan aioli sauce. There should have been more aioli however. The mushroom Bibimbap, with the fried egg omitted, was tasteless, mostly rice and hardly any mushrooms. The happy hour dumplings were tasty but deep fried - I’ve had better.

Pros: Kudos to having vegan options, Beautiful setting

Cons: No protein sources for vegans-none, Expensive for what you get, Bland tasting
