Tasty! - Edit
I was very happy stopping here to rest and fuel up before the travelling day. They are very knowledgeable about vegans and have multiple options to cater to our needs. I got the sweet potato burger which was a delightful and fresh tasting. I opted for getting the grilled salad and it was one of the best salads I’ve ever had! Nice warm grilled veggies on a cool autumn day was just what I needed. You can opt to add tofu for protein if you desire. It came with their in house made maple balsamic salad dressing which was the star of the show. You can purchase the salad dressing to go and if I had a refrigerator to bring it back home I would have that everyday on my salads, it was sooo tasty! They have lots of drink choices, I got the local rosé cider (apple cranberry) and it was tart and tasty. The service was splendid and very friendly. Go visit this restaurant, it’s definitely worth it.

Very Accommodating - Edit
Friendly staff and wonderful with accommodating Vegans, I inquired about the base of their Maple Curry and it is typically cream based but they offered to alter it to coconut milk and threw in extra veggies & mushrooms as I opt to remove the chicken! It would be lovely in future to have this option to “veganize” marked on the menu for ease.

Pleasant Surprise - Edit
We were surprised and happy with the options and atmosphere of this restaurant that’s in area of limited Vegan options. We were not surprised with excellent service thanks to HappyCow previous reviews. My wife had the veggie wrap and I had the black bean burger. The food was good.

Black Spoon Bistro and Cafe - Edit
They are very kind and considerate of vegan diets. They were willing to substitute different things in my sandwich in order to make it vegan, all while being patient and helpful. They also have a small cafe in another location which is equally accommodating. They focus primarily on coffee in the other location, but offer some vegan dessert options as well. Only place in North Sydney with any real vegan options.

Fresh and delicious - Edit
We enjoyed the veg panini where they willingly subbed the cheese for either hummus or guacamole. The waitress was knowledgeable informing us that the sourdough bread was not vegan and made suggestions for alternatives. Pleasant customer service. 2 minute walk from the ferry. A very pleasant experience.

Very accommodating to vegans - Edit
Options as of now: Beyond burger, mixed veg pasta dish w/o the pesto sauce due to a bit of cream, modified salads, trio sampler. It has been the best vegan meal that I’ve had in Nova Scotia.

Yummy veg options! - Edit
This is the only good place for vegans and vegetarians on the northside imo, but luckily it's great! Vegan sandwich is good and marked, lots of vegetarian options that can easily be made vegan too. Usually busy at peak times. I highly recommend, veggie friends!
