One of the best restaurants in Puerto Vallarta

This is rated as one of the best restaurants in Puerto Vallarta - the environment is magical, and the service is on point.

When we made the reservations, we stated that we wanted the vegan tasting menu. we arrived and were promptly seated in one of the nicest outdoor seating areas we've ever dined in. The vegan tasting menu was very innovative, and had 6 courses plus an amuse bouche! They had served us a dessert with meringue, and I was a bit concerned that meringue is not vegan. Our server went back to the kitchen and found that the meringue was actually made with aquafaba. This is the perfect romantic date night spot - our best meal in Puerto Vallarta!

Pros: Perfect service, Romantic environment outside, Innovative cuisine

Cons: Not the least expensive restaurant

Hello, we will be in PV next week for a friend's bday, and we are going to have dinner here. What would you recommend ? How was the 6 course meal?

Simply, don't go here if you are vegan

While the ambience is beautiful, they have no interest in serving vegan diners. Two years ago I ate here and there was a three-course vegan menu, although they scrambled to bring me crackers when there was no vegan bread available.

Last night my server seemed not to know what vegan was and could only offer a cauliflower dish, and a couple other dishes that they could remove the cheese from. The only dessert was a sorbet. I don't want to be treated like an afterthought. Until Cafe Des Artistes can show that it wants vegan diners, I will go to La Palapa or River Cafe or better yet, Veggitalia for excellent vegan meals.

Pros: Gorgeous garden dining area, Attentive service, Good wine and tequila selection

Cons: They serve foie gras, Little for vegans w/o modifications

Awesome service, fantastic food

When the waiter reviewed the menu with us, we told him we were vegan. He spoke to the chef and the chef created a meal for us that was not on the menu. SIX courses of wonderful!

Great fine dining, not vegan

If you're a vegetarian who eats dairy, this place has a surprisingly affordable multi-course fine dining experience. The romantic ambiance is lovely and the staff is attentive. You might be able to request a vegan tasting menu if you contact the restaurant in advance. Be sure to request outside garden seating.

Pros: Great value, Top notch staff, Beautiful outdoor garden seating

Cons: Not 100% vegan

A class act!

We reserved here for our anniversary, and the staff decorated our table with rose petals. This is the special occasion restaurant in town, and the chef offered an entirely vegan (or vegetarian) tasting menu for 600 pesos. We enjoyed five courses for $32. It was well worth it to try to the inventive food, and to enjoy the hospitable service. Imagine French elegance but with Mexican warmth. Servers understood what vegan meant even if there were a few hiccups—they offered us olive oil instead of butter for the bread, but then included cheese breads in the bread basket. But overall, we were still impressed that a French restaurant in Mexico had a 5-course vegan tasting menu. Wine pairings nearly doubled the cost of the meal, but again, worth it because it was clear that attention had been paid to match the wines to the vegan offerings.
