Limited options, incredible stew

It's a traditional Polish place, so you should expect Polish fare, which typically isn't vegan. They offer some soups (borscht, french onion), and pierogies which can be made vegetarian, but vegan choices are more limited. Potato pancakes, and the stew mostly.

But what you're here for is the Leczo stew. It's vegan by default, and it's incredibly good. In the platter that comes with some coleslaw-like sides (also vegan) it's very filling. I usually get two meals out of it.

If it weren't for this stew I don't think the place would be worth visiting as a vegan, but that stew is probably one of the best things I've had in this city, so I keep coming back for that.

Pros: The Laczo stew, Dietary-knowledgable staff

Cons: Dated interior, Largely non-vegans fare

Friendly place with some good vegan options

Traditional Polish food, so the menu is meat heavy. But it’s refreshing to see vegan options on the menu clearly labelled, and the few options they do have are delicious! Handmade onion and potato Perogi, a very good vegan leczo stew (it has beans and veggies in a very flavourful tomato base), a beet salad I can’t get enough of, and a few other vegan sides (coleslaw, some carrot salad, potatoes with dill). I would love to see them have more options in the future, especially would be nice if they had a vegan alternative to sour cream so that the Perogies could be eaten with a topping.

Pros: Leczo stew and beet salad are standouts , Vegan options clearly labelled, Nice patio in the summer

Cons: No vegan toppings for the perogies, Would love to see more vegan options
