Always good

The food is always good here. The Rueben and roast beef are amongst our favorites.

Overall, Great!

This place is definitely a cool place. It's not somewhere I will be taking people who are in town visiting, nor will I be telling all my friends, but i definitely think it's cool.

I appreciate all the vegan & vegetarian options, they find so many ways to make creative food this way. I liked the lentil berry wrap, (there are not berries inside) it reminded me of an enchilada without the sauce on top.

They have meat options which I don’t understand!

I definitely did not like the vegan chicken wings, but I find seitan to be rubbery and odd. The vegan blue cheese was disappointing, it reminded me of mascarpone, completely flavorless and more like a gelatin whip.

The people working here are very kind and the atmosphere is so laid back. Definitely got the cool factor for quick cheap eats if you live nearby.

Paying is kind of awkward, cash only and you basically have to tell your server your tip at the register.

Pros: lots of options

Cons: some awkward moments

Vegan beef on weck

Interesting place. Diner vibe, good diner menu with lots of vegan and vegetarian choices.

The vegan beef on weck was amazing. Absolutely fantastic, loved it. The "wet shoes", sort of like a lentil pepper and onion poutine, was also good.

Service was really poor, unfortunately. Our server did not seem to be entirely paying attention to much of anything.

If the food were not remarkably good, and unique, I wouldn't go back. Given that it in fact is remarkably good, and quite unique, I'll be back next time I'm in Buffalo, and just try to think of the place as "quirky".

Pros: Tasty, Unique menu offerings, Inexpensive

Cons: Service

Classic Diner does Vegan/Veg

If you didn't know this a stellar vegan place, you'd think this is just your typical diner. Mismatching coffee mugs, 90's classic rock, quirky waitresses. The barstools, and the checker-print floors. It's a diner. But what steals the show are the food options.

With a lot of mediterranean faire, breakfast all day, a laundry list of burgers and chicken dishes, and plenty of seitan to go around, this place has food for everyone. I ended up with the mini (read: HUGE. Must be opposite day) hummus wrap, and the bbq seitan wings. Wings were fantastic, wrap was okay.

This place feels familiar though I know i've never been here. Maybe it's the nostalgia. Maybe it's the music.

Pros: ATMOSPHERE AND SERVICE ARE AUTHENTIC, Wings stole my heart, Quick Service

Cons: Not good if you don't like diners, Not the best hummus wrap...

disappointing breakfast

Came here for the first time for breakfast. Very excited as the menu showed lots of vegan options. I ordered the tofu scramble (comes with potatoes, toast and tofu strips). There was barely any tofu in my scramble and lots of vegetables. Didn’t have much flavor. My friend ordered the 2-2-2 with French toast, tofu strips, potatoes, and lentils. Yep French toast had a weird flavor and the lentils were probably the best thing we tried. Place definitely was a diner and seemed a bit dirty including the silverware and coffee cups. Would not come back for breakfast as we were not impressed.

Pros: vegan options

best vegan junk food

Amy's is the best go-to junk food place and it's so cheap. Their vegan Mac and cheese is really different but so good. The DanKabobs wrap is my go to, I just sub tofu for chicken. They're pretty knowledgeable about vegan and can sub most things.. however if you are one who can't have your food prepped next to or on the same space as non vegan food, this place isn't for you.

Pros: tons of began options , delicious , Super cheap

Cons: service sucks in the mornings, not super clean , parking sucks

loved it!

Super tasty! Loved the vegan wings. I am a vegetarian and my family eats meat. It was perfect for all of us. The fries are wonderful as well as the lentil sandwiches.

Always progressing with new vegan options

I've been eating at Amy's for probably 20 years and they have come a VERY long way with their vegan offerings. Really great diner food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Scary-real vegan wings

Vegan French toast, mac and cheese, the best (and scariest) vegan wings I've ever had... crispy tough and chewy like real ones. French toast is a must try!

Excellent vegan diner food!

My husband and I stopped in for dinner, not knowing what to expect. Very quaint diner setting (been there for over 30 years). We ordered beef on weck and the reuben sandwiches (both vegan) with curly fries (also came with a side of tabulee). Topped it off with a peanut butter chocolate chip cookie. All very tasty, portions were decent sized, and the prices were reasonable. Expect diner food, although some things on the menu are on the healthier side. We will definitely go back when we're in the mood to treat ourselves to yummy diner food!

Pros: Yummy food at decent prices, Quaint atmoshphere with very attentive staff

Cons: Takes only cash

Best vegan Mac and cheese

We stopped here during a road trip and my kids still talk about it. Specifically, the vegan Mac and cheese. They wouldn't divulge the recipe, but told me it used sweet potatoes, cashews, and turmeric. Hip retro decor. Can't wait to visit Buffalo again.

Great food, worth checking out

Just had dinner at Amy's Place with a group and we were all impressed. Even though it's not a vegan restaurant, they have a lot of options, and they are probably all good judging from what we had.

Three of us had some variation of their vegan French toast breakfast dishes (they serve breakfast all day, yes!) and I particularly love that they substitute the traditional eggs with lentils with broccoli, instead of tofu scramble or similar (they do have a tofu scramble dish too). The other two had vegan Reubens, and according to them, they finally had a vegan Reuben that tasted like a Reuben.

We also ordered the vegan Buffalo wings and vegan Mac & Cheese. The wings were great and the Mac was pretty good too.

The server informed us they can make pretty much everything on the menu vegan and change it for allergies.

Vegan Diner ⚡️

It might not be all vegan, but the vegan options compete with Brooklyn's Champs and the Chicago Diner. It's my favorite place in Buffalo.

Pros: Biff, Reuben, Weff (sandwich)

Cons: cash only

Delicious!

This place was amazing. When you first walk in you're not quite sure what to expect as it looks a little worse for wear but you quickly realize it just adds to the character. Despite it being so busy we were seated by friendly staff right away. This is one of the best vegan breakfasts I've had. Definitely try the saitan and the french toast! Super affordable and huge portions too. :-)

Pros: Everything

Cons: none

Great food

We stopped in just as people were leaving from the lunch rush, so we did get seated right away.
It was a great place for a veggie and an omni for lunch. I love the Veggie wet shoes, the only thing that would have made it better is veggie cheese. I asked them to hold the cheese. The vegan wings with vegan blue cheese was yummy.
Highly recommend trying it out.

Pros: Lots of choices, good for non veg people too

Cons: Small place, doesn't take credit cards

Local Favorite!

Definitely a local gem for comfort food. A diner with a college vibe, great vegan options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Vegan BLT, vegan tuna pita, and homemade vegan pastries. My favorite is the veggie wet shoes -- curly Q fries smothered in spicy lentils, grilled onions, peppers, and tomatoes.

Amy's Place is the Best- Vegans included

Amy's is a Diner. It serves delicious diner vegan and vegetarian food. It's amazing.

This really isn't a health food restaurant. What this place does serve is amazing tasty vegan food a great price. They have great breakfasts featuring lentil's, broccoli, home fries and toast. You can add setan if you so desire. For lunch and dinner I highly recommend the Biff sandwich. All the food is really good. There is a huge menu. It serves food for everybody so you can bring your omnivore friends and they can eat something with meat if they want. The ambiance is great. It has this old worn in diner feel. There is a sign on the door that says be nice or leave. If you arrive before 9am you get amazing breakfast specials. During brunch on Saturday and Sunday this place gets busy. However, it is worth the wait. IF you are a vegan and are coming to Buffalo this is the place to go.

Pros: Great Food, Great Price , Great Ambiance

Great food - ate it 3 times in 24 hours

My wife and I were in Buffalo for 24 hours and ate here twice (and I ordered to-go food to eat during travel). Excellent vegan diner-esque food. As good as you could expect from an all vegan restaurant.
Some of our favorite Items:
Buffalo Seitan Wings
The Tempeh Reuben
French Toast - Potatoes on the side were clutch
PiTaco - A pita/taco hybrid that is really tasty.
Vegan Tuna-salad Bagel Sandwich

Good and cheap

My veganized steak wrap was amazing. So was the pitcher of iced tea. The place is a [edit by staff] tho, I didnt mind it but some people would. My arm got stuck in sticky stuff on our table. The ceiling tiles are falling out, its pretty dirty. The "pastries" consisted of coffee cake and nothing else. That was dissappointing. The staff was quick and kinda friendly.

great place for a cheap bite!

One of the few places you can get a vegan breakfast out in Buffalo! Casual atmosphere with a large selection. Their menu is clearly labeled what is vegan. Portions are large, which makes it great value; but quality and taste of the dishes varies greatly.

Pros: cheap vegan food, good coffee, usually vegan desserts

Cons: not consistent taste, bit dirty , service can be slow when busy

My favorite local eatery

My favorite local eatery, even though they're not completely vegan, they're VERY vegan friendly and have a lot to choose from on the menu. The atmosphere is great, very low key and DIY, all plates and mugs are different, and one is allowed to draw on there place mats and post it on the wall. They're always playing some alt. music put on by the employee's (whom are very friendly).

I ate here when I was in Buffalo in 2005. I hate the hummus and pita plate and I remember it being really good. It was awesome to be feed vegan food so late at night (after the bars closed). I was pretty drunk when I went there so it might be interesting to go back again.

Pros: hummus, vegan options

Cons: not all vegetarian or vegan

I Ate At Amy's Place

Amy's Place is good for a "dive-ish" type diner. I will say I've never been served in styrofoam though. I like the lentil-berry sandwich and Cait's plate. Never waste your time on the chili. The menu clearly marks what's vegan and most meals can be made vegan just by asking for no cheese.

Pros: Highly casual, Large Portions

Cons: Bottled sodas
