A bit disappointed - Edit
We were looking forward to our meal here after reading the raving reviews, but I must say that we were a bit disappointed. My husband had the fried cabbage and the fried tofu, and both just tasted of garlic. While we are used to that in Thailand, this time it really was a lot. I had the Tom Yum and it was so, so oily, I could hardly eat it. So all three dishes were missing some balance in our opinion.

Amazing Pad-Thai - Edit
We just had a really good dinner here. The portion sizes are great as are the prices. It is clearly marked on the menu which items could be prepared without egg. Also, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about vegan options. We will definitely come back here.

Good spot! Mushroom heavy dishes - Edit
Nice spot with many vegetarian options! Smoothies and teas are lovely as well. We came twice and had the green curry, red curry, papaya salad, woon sen salad, tom kha, tom yum, and spring rolls. Liked it all but dishes were very mushroom heavy. About half of the veggies in the curries and soups were mushrooms. A few varieties of them and cooked well, but heads up if you're not a big fan of fungus!

Chada Vegetarian Restaurant is a fantastic option for both dining in and takeout. They are known for their generous portions and excellent value for money. If you visit, I highly recommend trying their fresh papaya salad, pho and green curry.

They close early in the evening so be sure to check opening hours.

Me and my partner got the red curry and Panang curry, and shared one rice. The rice portion was small but the Currys (which were called soups in the menu) were big so it balanced out nicely. Came with soooo many vegetables which was lovely.

I got some fried rice and the mixed red curry with the lemon soda. 4 star meal here. Lots of flavours, textures and man the colours. It was so dope. So sick. Really relaxed environment. No rushing. No stress. Just chill. Deffo with me back. In what form? Well who knows. Would deffo come back to haunt this place if it meant, the staff left out offerings to said ghost.

Edited March 1, 2023. Back in Chiang Mai, and want to add that the food is consistently very good. We've eaten there many times and will be back multiple times every time we visit this city.
Read moreWe've been in Thailand for a month, and spent a week in Chiang Mai. Chiang Mai has many great vegan places to choose from, but we kept coming back to Cha-Da for the great food, large portions, reasonable prices, and very friendly service.
We particularly liked the fruit plate, or fruit with muesli for breakfast, and the curries for dinner, but everything we tried was delicious. They also offer takeaway, and package the food very nicely.

I had one of the best Pad Thai here, and the fried rolls were also really good! Portions are decent and food presentation is curated. Everything can be chosen without egg, therefore vegan. One note: it would be nice if the "without egg" option of each dish was slightly cheaper since it's from the menu.

Small locally owned restaurant, says vegetarian on the menu but everything seems to be vegan. Beautiful delicious Thai dishes, large portions and very moderately priced. Highly recommend. I had the Vietnamese Pho and Thai holy Basil tea, it was delicious and very filling.

Came here for a late lunch/early dinner around 3pm. Got a papaya smoothie (skip, overall tasteless), rice, massaman curry and green curry. The massaman curry is quite rich but unique with the pineapple and peanuts. I loved the potatoes in it. The green curry is quite spicy but flavorful.

I would recommend this place for the curries. It’s cheaper than Goodsouls and Reform Kafe but more expensive than local eateries.
They don’t take card.

Read moreEvery dish on the menu has photos and most items can be made vegan by removing the eggs. I ordered the Red Curry Soup, Papaya Salad, and Fried Spring Rolls. The soup was fantastic and the salad had the perfect amount of Thai chilis.
Definitely a great spot for a wonderful veg meal in a very casual spot.

Oh wow the red curry was delicious. This is the kind of food that would be so healing if someone was sick. Loaded with vegetables,mushrooms, herbs and greens. It was delicious but very warming. Not in an overly spicy way just very warm for a hot day in Chiang Mai. There wasn’t air conditioning when we went. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

I spent a few weeks in Chiangmai. I only patronize vegan/vegetarian restaurants. I ran into Cha Da by accident and it quickly became my favorite restaurant in Chiangmai.

Indoor and outdoor seating.
Price was the lowest I found (beautifully prepared and tasety padhi 50 baht).
They default to a western pallet so I had to request to make it spicey.
Pros: The dishes are all fresh, made when ordered., Every dish I had was excellent! , Price was the lowest I found
