Tasty Vietnamese food

Nice small place that serves tasty food. Had the: Seidentofu in Erdnusssauce, Edamame (with too much salt on it), Chay Seitan goi cuon, Saigon Curry with tofu and Mien xao. All of the dishes are delicious. Friendly staff takes good care of you.

Pros: good value, friendly staff, excellent food

Delicious viatnemese food

Comfy restaurant serving all vegetarian (and mostly vegan) food. Dishes containing milk are labeled. Staff was friendly and our dishes very tasty.
I recommend the papaya salad and pho. Average prices (Berlin standard)

Excellent flavors!

What incredible dishes! My husband and I would’ve gone again if we weren’t leaving Berlin. Awesome vegan and vegetarian options, with tofu or seitan. Main dishes were only around 6 euro, cash only.

Pros: Great flavors, Variety of vegan proteins, Very affordable

Cons: Cash only, No free water without other drink purchase, Not super friendly

Pretty good with pretty uninformed staff.

The food is quite tasty, albeit not very "clean", i.e. partially quite oily and generally somewhat highly processed; the food options are somewhat classic but also partially different from dishes you would get at other vegan Vietnamese or vegan options offering Vietnamese restaurants in Berlin. The prices are a little bit below average while the portion sizes are bigger than what you'd get at several different - and oftentimes pricier - restaurants.

The location is fine and the staff is friendly; BUT - while the menu does list some non-vegan drinks made with cow's milk, in other cases - such as the Green Tea ice cream - it is not clear whether or not some of the desserts are made with "classic" animal ingredients or not. The different menu items do have allergy information listed and that particular dessert was not marked as containing dairy, but given that ice cream is usually made with it, I was not that sure. Asking however, the waiter was not able to tell me what it is made from, because "they" would buy it pre-manufactured from a "big Asian market" and apparently he had no idea what the ingredients are. I was just told he wouldn't "believe" that it is made with dairy - and well, I had already eaten one and asked only afterwards after becoming somewhat sceptical, and I did not get any stomach pain which I would normally after years of being vegan and accidentally eating dairy a few times since then, so he could be right, but you don't know for sure and a more enlightening menu would really be useful it not necessary.

Wonderful!

I had # 2 Canh chua Suppe and # 30 Bun Tofu. I recommend both! Tasty and spicy soup, and very nice main dish. The portion was huge!

Cozy atmosphere and very polite and professional waitress.

Pros: Big portion , Nice place , Close to U-Bahn/S-Bahm/Tram

Good food, kind of greasy

Overall, we really liked Chay Umi. The menu was almost all vegan and the rice dishes we got tastes really good. The service was excellent and they had English menus, which was wonderful. The portions were also very large for the price and we ended up taking half of one home.
Just wish this restaurant offered some healthier food items because all the tofu was fried. Still, a good meal and we would return.

Pros: Inexpensive, Tasty

Cons: Kind of oily

big menu and great food

The food here is delicious - especially the gyoza/dumplings and coconut soup as a starter.

Most food is vegan and they have daily specials. Very close to Schönehauser Allee S-bhf too.

The staff are usually super friendly and attentive but occasionally not, hence no five stars. The atmosphere is cosy and dark and intimate.

Delicious!

Great choice and tastes very originally Vietnamese. Nice atmosphere! Definitely recommend. Only thing missing that would serve them well is a better selection of fresh juices.

Huge portions, delicious and small price

Have visited this place several times for lunch: way above average vietnamese food. Apart from the extensive - but not overwhelming - menu, there are 3 dishes offered that change every second week or so.
Everything's vegan and feels quite healthy.
For 7£ you can get some Udon noodles with veggies and seitan/tofu/textured soy. Portions are very big.

Pros: Taste, Portions size, Price

Best dinner in Berlin so far!

An absolute favorite Asian cuisine in Berlin! Great variety of dishes to choose from, quick service, has Vietnamese wines/beers, menu in English and is quite cheap! We left really pleased and hope to come back soon! x

Cons: No card payments, Waiter didn't speak English
