So many options! - Edit
They have pre made meals only. But so many of them!
Read moreThe lasagna was delicious! And it comes with a side of pesto sauce and a tiny dessert.
The raviolis I found bland and only flavorful if I added the sauce. The collard wrap was a little hard to eat, as the collard itself was a little tough, maybe a little old, but the filling was very good.
The tiramisus was delicious, as was the pitaya pie. I also got garlicky sticks and chips to go. These were very tasty.
The woman that was working there was very friendly.

Absolutely Rawesome ♥ - Edit
I discovered Chicago Raw and met Polly in the early days when I was living in the city. She was way ahead of her time with her creations that beautifully crafted and nutrient dense. I was fortunate to have met her and love everything she makes. It hands down the best restaurant in the city and state. I should submitted this review years ago! I am so happy to see her and her daughter are thriving. If you are visiting or live nearby you should make plans to go asap. I miss the convenience of living a few blocks away and enjoying the menu while talking to her. It was an incredible experience and one of my fondest memories of living in Chicago.

Take-away raw - Edit
I've tried a variety of dishes from Chicago Raw. While some are reasonably tasty, the options lack diversity; most dishes contain same ingredients. Despite the expectation that raw food should be light and healthy, the offerings here are quite heavy and filling, as they are heavily nut and seed-based. Though I appreciate nuts and seeds as crucial elements of raw food, the balance here seems off. Additionally, the desserts are too sweet for my taste.

Amazing! - Edit
The Collard Burrito had great flavor & ingredients! Very filling!
Read moreThe Mini Slice of Heaven, a/k/a dragon fruit cheesecake, was amazing! And a beautiful pink color.
The lasagna was delicious! The colors are beautiful and the cashew cheese filling was remarkably ricotta-like. The mini garlic stix were adorable. The Mini Slice of Heaven included with the lasagna was heavenly.
We received lovely, warm service with lots of good advice on the options and when we explained that we were visiting from our of town, she even gave us vegan restaurant recommendations.
The mini pumpkin pie was divine!

Hard to choose! - Edit
I had a hard time choosing an entree—settled on the lasagna and it was a winner. It was a light and delicious dinner paired with kombucha. All the food is pre-prepared. There is limited counter seating inside and tables outside. Super friendly staffer helped describe choices to me. Went back for a blueberry donut for a perfect ending.

All The Things! - Edit
A friend from back in NYC recommended that I make a POINT of coming here, and so I did during my Amtrak "intermission" during the final leg of my trip, and WOW! As soon as I walked in there, I wanted to buy everything in the store - I didn't, but I DID purchase their "Collard Burrito" for my pre-boarding meal and everything about it was raw perfection.

This is the best restaurant - Edit
I love raw foods but it’s hard to find a place that makes good raw food dishes. But this place was amazingly good, everything I tried was very good, only clean ingredients and you’re actually eating something more nutritious.

Raw at its Best - Edit
I love raw vegan restaurants for their creativity in creating dishes that requires little to no cooking, which is more challenging than one thinks.
Read moreThe small shop is a womxn owned business and is a cozy, grab and go environment. There were a few seats by the window but I anticipate most people will swing by for something and be on their way.
For breakfast, I ordered their Acai Bowl ($15) with fresh fruit, protein powder, and granola. It was a decent sized portion and everything was blended nicely, although their granola felt a bit hard. But you really can't go wrong with acai and other freshness in the morning.
They sell a variety of takeout meals including wraps, sushi, lasagna, etc., and yes, all of it is raw so you're really benefiting from all the natural vitamins and minerals in whole foods. It's definitely on the steeper end but I appreciate that it's available to the masses.
Pros: All vegan raw items
Cons: Little steep

Bon - Edit

Top accessable place with a very positive and knowledgeable staff. All house made My faves are kelp noodles, a few of the raw pies, carrot muffin is the best drug for real!!! Though its small and majority to go, it's a welcoming communal space

Lots of Variety - Edit
Great small shop and very nice owner giving out samples! Great variety and it’s all yummy. The tiramisu bar and chocolate donut are my favorite desserts - wouldn’t know they’re raw. The empanadas are my favorite savory item I’ve tried so far. Kinda pricy but healthful food and great purpose - so worth it!

I can make better - Edit
The food honestly tasted awful. I’ve recently gone plant-based and have always been interested in trying raw vegan foods. I experienced so much regret. I got the sampler and ended up throwing it all away. Not sure if the food went bad or just overall tastes bad. I wish i didn’t spend that money.

Not fresh… - Edit
I re-visited chicago raw as I really liked most of the food there. This time I had a sweet potato wrap and the filling looked like it was at least 2 days old, almost black avocado and brown salad leave. Lasagne tasted fine and so I also choose an oats muffin to go. When I tried it later there was mould inside the muffin. I took the muffin back and when I said the food can’t be fresh there wasn’t even a denial of that assumption I made…anyways, the place is too expensive for the quality of food.
