Best coffee and breakfast sammy - Edit
Love love love Coat Check. I stop here every time I’m in Indy. Been going since the vegan option was a bialy. The focaccia sandwich is an upgrade to the biscuit sandwich they used to offer. Highly recommend. They have oat milk and usually a vegan pastry too.

Best vegan breakfast sandwich ever! - Edit
Wow, the jalapeño jelly, the just egg, and the focaccia bread… incredible breakfast sandwich. Cozy environment, kind of feels like you’re in a museum. Wouldn’t necessarily hang out here very long, but definitely worth the stop.

Awful environment - Edit
This is not a coffee shop you should go to if you want to like hang in a coffee shop. It’s in the lobby of a museum and there’s a few tables with people really wishing it was something else. Staff is cold and unfriendly, doesn’t seem to know what vegan is. Upcharge for oat milk makes your drink close to $10. Food and coffee were mid but not worth the trip.

Several vegan options/located in Atheneum - Edit
I ordered the vegan breakfast sandwich which is egg, cheese, sausage (all vegan), and pepper jelly on focaccia. Very filling—saving half for later. They also had a vegan donut, cookie, and muffin top.

Amazing - Edit
Not only is their drip coffee dialed in to be absolutely delicious, their vegan food options are interesting and delightful. I just had the best cake donut of my life here. Light and fluffy texture unlike anything I've ever had before. And a tajin corn cookie??? What a unique treat.

Upcharge for oat milk but good options - Edit
Yummy sandwich that is listed as vegetarian, but can be made vegan. I love the golden milk and the baked goods are delicious and made in house.

Vibes immaculate food delicious - Edit
I got the vegan breakfast sandwich on the focaccia bread and it was so so good. I also got the pistachio latte with oat milk and it was very smooth and yummy! The vibes are very cool with a free art gallery upstairs.

OMG Lavender Latte was divine!! - Edit
I walked a mile to try this place and it did not disappoint! The Lavender Latte was PERFECTION! Not too sweet, not too bitter! And so beautiful! The vegan breakfast sandwich was delish too! I got the jalapeno jelly on the side, in case it was too spicy, which it was:/. Recommend getting the apple butter on the side and dipping sandwich in it..don’t knock it till you try it!
Read moreOnly disappointment was they are in the middle of changing their recipe for the vegan sausage gravy, which shouldn’t be that hard. Hopefully it’s on the menu soon again!!:)

THE BISCUIT - Edit
Just do what everyone is telling you to do and get the damn vegan biscuit sandwich. It’s so bomb. You won’t regret it. (Just don’t wait too long in the morning/day or they might be sold out and then you’ll really miss out.)

Amazing biscuit breakfast sandwich - Edit
I loved their vegan breakfast sandwich!! The biscuit was to die for. Probably the best biscuit I’ve had since going vegan. The different flavors in the sandwich really complemented each other. I wasn’t expecting to like jalapeño jelly and is wasn’t too spicy for me! I have a low spice tolerance level.
Read moreTheir vegan chocolate chip cookie and golden milk latte were great too! Make sure you specify you want oat/non-dairy milk if you order a drink. I almost accidentally ended up with whole milk by forgetting to specify.

Beautiful Location and Latte - Edit
This is definitely a splurge at $21 for a sandwich and an iced latte. Fancy latte, though. Pistachio syrup with a squeeze and garnish of lemon. Sandwich was tasty. Bread was like a croissant/bagel hybrid; pepper jelly was a nice touch; cheese, sausage and Just Egg satisfactory. Beautiful seating area, though a little dark away from the large windows.

Fancy cute spot - Edit
Nice little area to go for brunch and hang with some friends. They share some of the same things from Landlocked bakery but you should also go early before the pastries run out.

Yummy food & fancy coffee - practically identical to Provider with a nicer space - Edit
This location is much nicer than provider, if you’ve been there, in my opinion. Very spacious (if you want to social distance), and just lovely. Far less crowded.
Read morePractically identical menu to Provider. Upcharge for oat milk ($0.75) on an already $7 latte.
Good vegan options — I have yet to see any of the things like Mac n’ cheese or such, but all of the restaurants from this group tend to have the same menu — a vegan breakfast sandwich with just egg, cheese, sausage, a pesto vegan sandwich, and then the shmears on bialys (bagel like bread) which can all be veganized — lox, garden and chive. I do find the lox bagel disappointing, it’s just some strips of carrot mixed in? I was expecting like proper carrot lox. Still love this place though & the food is delicious.

Hidden Gem! - Edit
Can’t believe this wasn’t on Happy Cow until now! I found Coat Check passing through Indy on a road trip. For a city that isn’t the most vegan friendly, this menu is SO amazing. I only had their coffee (lime leaf latte with oat milk and my bf got the chocolate latte with oat milk) — both were SO good. If their food matches their drinks, this is the place to go. Menu is mostly vegan and clearly labeled. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their menu.

Cons: Hidden away (in a theater) , Not all vegan ;)
